What can you tell me about PS2 mod chips?

I don't know about burnt games though.

Can't you just use a Game Shark or Instant Replay for import games? Why go the mod chip route?

Not for the PS2, unless somethings changed quite a bit here lately.

Im bumping this topic since like Downhome I really want to play my import games (i still have 2 from xmas).

 

Does anyone here have the fliptop lid? I'm tempted to buy it with the bootdiscs since it seems like the easiest way to play imports, but yet I'm such a spaz at hardware I'm afraid I'll mess my PS2 up.

 

Any feedback?
