Guest BigPoppaKev Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 http://tv.yahoo.com/news/wwn/20030319/1048...4808600007.html When I read this story it kind of freaked me out a little bit. I doubt this guy is a time traveller but just the thought of someone from a different time period living amongst us is kind of weird.
Guest Tyler McClelland Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 Weekly World News is the same rag that reports stuff like Alien invasions and Nostradamus' predictions of stuff. It's entertainment and nothing more, thus the catergory.
Guest Downhome Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 From the "What If..." files... ...what if he actually DID tell us where Osama is, the cure for aids, and other such things?
Guest The Czech Republic Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I'm a time traveler, I flew from Detroit to Chicago and it was 10 minutes earlier when I arrived than when it was when I departed.
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Weekly World News has been saying there's been a "batboy" for the past 50 years, if I'm not mistaken. I agree with Tyler on this one.
Guest Boromir's Smirking Revenge Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 The universe is, apparently, NOT written in God code. It actually wouldn't be the worst alibi I've ever heard. If you were under a fake identity it'd be hard to disprove the claim.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 There will never be time travel. At any point in the future of the universe. Of this I am certain, because if it ever did come along, we would be swamped with tourists from the future.
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted April 3, 2003 Report Posted April 3, 2003 Unless, of course, time travellers realized that revealing their presence would seriously fuck with the way time played out. After all, if someone could come up, right now and prove that time travel was possible, then time travel would probably be discovered a lot quicker then it would normally be. I mean, right now, it's generally accepted that it's NOT possible. If there was proof it WAS, then there'd be reason to research it. And anyone who put in the effort to create time travel would also realize that if they caused it to be invented before it should have been, then their future would be drastically changed. I don't think anyone is willing to risk completely changing around the entire world. Not that I think it's possible - I say that time is just a concept invented by the human mind so we can help ourselves understand things better. It's not any sort of medium.
Guest tank_abbott Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 But what if they have changed their past (our present?) What if they are truly the "illuminati" www.whatreallyhappened.com
Guest Ram Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 If you want to know if you're going to invent a time traveling device, promise yourself you'll appear an hour from whenever on that day. Wait, and if nothing happens, then you probably didn't.
Guest 5_moves_of_doom Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Just a comment to add to the "the whole World would fuck up!" argument... watch Happy Accidents, because the way time travel is explained there is the most believable that I've ever seen.
Guest RevEvil Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Wouldn't you likely end up in outer space due to Earth's movement around the solar system?
Guest Jack Tunney Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 The past can't be changed anyway since it already happened.Let's say for example you go back to 1940 and try to kill Hitler. This means back when 1940 happened you were there and you're not gonna kill him. You're pre-destined to fail.
Guest tank_abbott Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 But what if the present was altered and we don't realize it, because Hitler's body was never shown to us by the Russians...so maybe someone did alter history and it lead us to this point? *?Head Spins?*
Guest PencilJobber Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 If they never showed us Hitler's body its possible they caught him and just tortured the bastard for years and years. The Russians and known as avid torturers how funny would it be if they had caught that bastard and just spend years and years slowly killing him and practising there torture methods in the mean time that and trying the effects of different deadly diseases i would say poetic justice would have been served
