Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Before I leave this thread for now I just would like to reitterate: I plan on watching Hogan vs Vince intently on Sunday.... Beniot and the 3 way he's in will be totally background noise as I talk to my comrades Good for you. You do it out of spite; maybe you'll feel better about yourself then. WEEEEEE indeed. Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted March 29, 2003 *Slaps head* Time to go back to the trivia thread... Mumbles incoherently about remembering not to start threads in the future... Its not that starting a thread was bad ( I start dozens of threads that really go nowhere), I just don't think you had the best evidence to back up the statement with the opinion of 1 person. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I don't think Marks are stupid at all either, Bob...As a matter of fact, I would kindly say that Marks are more intelligent then most of us here. Here we are blinded by Hate and Disapointment...Marks...They do it right...They treat it like what it is...A 2 hour Televison program. WE set our expectations purposely high, just because We all revel in Anger and dissapointment...

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted March 29, 2003 WE set our expectations purposely high, just because We all revel in Anger and dissapointment... Yes, I ordered the Rumble so I could deliberately be dissapointed, then angry in the weeks afterwards. Come to think of it, that would have helped with the Rumble aftermath as I would have expected it instead of it hitting me in the face. Especially after feeling like I watched something special that night, and the start of something good. Last time in a long while I put in real faith into anything WWE does. And you know what? That isn't my fault. Sorry.

Guest Brian Report post Posted March 29, 2003 We set are expectations high because we understand how good things could be. I prefer the title rubes in this case.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I now expect the worse...and still get disappointed by a large amount of the crap currently being churned out.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Well.......hmm.......I have a friend that's a pretty big mark. His only knowledge of the "inside" of the business comes from me..and my only knowledge is what Dave Meltzer tells me.......so.........he sure isn't a smark he's more of a mark. And let's see......Benoit is his favorite wrestler and he hates HHH's guts......oh and he doesn't want to see Hogan/Vince at all. Oh and my boss at work and a co-worker are both marks and think this Hogan/Vince crap is moronic and don't want to see the match at all........... Wow........that's 3 marks to your 2! I win! Marks don't want to see it!
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Most of the mid-generation martks wants to see. Like the mid-twenties, who have somewhat fond memories of Hogan. That's what I've found.

Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I'd better point out that last post was sarcasm... otherwise the flame war may continue.... BTW I surrender you are right....only a small, itty bitty, tiny, miniscule, ant-like, microscopic portion of the audience wants to see Vince/ Hogan ... Congrats on your total and complete VICTORY
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Hello! Didn't I just tell you people that non-smark Fans are talking about this matching even saying "I might have to see that"...That GOTTA count for SOMETHING! HOW DO YOU People know The other 99.9 of the world's feelings about this match? You Don't. Stop saying what you want them to say.
Guest creativename Report post Posted March 29, 2003 03-28-03 09:27:52 AM Mandrax Wow. I might have to pony up the money to get it then. You know, I can't believe that I'm the only one here who thought that this was CLEARLY sarcasm. Oh well, I guess it might not be sarcasm after all...but still. How could I be the *only* one here who thought so?

In reality, it's just a blanket statement trying to be passed off as proof or a fact.
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted March 29, 2003 This is neither here or there but I found it interesting or something: At WrestleMania 1, Andre the Giant wrestled John Studd. Tito Santana wrestled the Executioner. JYD wrestled Greg Valentine. Rick Steamboat wrestled Matt Bourne. Cyndi Lauper managed Wendy Richter. The Main Event was Mr. T & Hulk Hogan v. Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff. Billy Martin is the guest ring announcer, Liberace is the guest time keeper, Muhammad Ali is the guest referee. Pat Patterson is the second ref. FIFTEEN YEARS LATER, Martin is dead, Liberace is dead, Andre is dead, Studd is dead, JYD is dead, Ali is a vegetable, Orndorff is retired, Steamboat is retired, Santana is retired, Valentine is basically retired, the ladies are persona non grata, Cyndi Lauper is the punchline to several 80's jokes, wrestling has changed irrevocably and forever... And Hogan is in the main event on Sunday. Sweet Jesus. ________ *Tank puts on his hogan t-shirt,bandana...cues up "Real American" , busts out his LJN Figure, and loves it! Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2003 The problem here is, We can never admit that Maybe the Marks are right and we're too damn stubborn to realize that and we try to cast blame on others...
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted March 29, 2003 As APO said, the same goes for the 'other side' as well. Case in point: HBK not being the magic ratings draw his fans here thought he was.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Here's another thing that Annoys me...20 Years in the Making...Sure It's Catchy but isn't 10 years more Accurate since the Trials and shit were in 1993-1994? Just Saying...

Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Well if you want to get technical HULKAMANIA was running wild since 1982 in the AWA, so that would be 21 years in the making....
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Did the marks not turn off during the Hogan title reign? They weren't exactly tuning in. I believe Judgment Day got about half as many buys as Mania 18.
