Can new japan come back?

I'm harboring some anger at Tenzan losing to Yasuda last night. WHY is Yasuda the champion in the first place? I may not be up to speed on current New Japan, but as far as I've seen Yasuda sucks. Yugi Nagata beat Norton for the #1 contender spot to Yasuda. Now Nagata VS Yasuda is the program being pushed. If Nagata VS Yasuda happens it's pretty much a given that Chono and Tenzan win the IWGP tag titles. I could think of worse to happen though.

 

Minoru Tanaka VS Jyushin Lyger seems to be the result of what would have been a great feud with Tanaka and Eddy Guerrero. Lyger, Tanaka, and their partner (I forget his name) wound up fighting after losing to Eddy, Kanemoto, and Black Tiger III. Minoru Tanaka seems to be useless as a Jr. Champion if he spends all this time in six and eight man tag matches. The Lyger feud would probably give Lyger his 15th(?) title. I do hope that New Japan can climb out of this rut though, Maybe if New Japan and All Japan do another interpromotional deal and Do Yasuda VS Kawada for both titles, then they can draw some SERIOUS money.

 

Since I'm not too knowledgeable in current New Japan can someone who knows more expand on the current situation?
