Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Which wrestler would seriously try to be cool or a badass, but you always just laughed?
Guest AndrewTS Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Intentionally or unintentionally? Bob Holly's got both covered. Unintentionally: Sid and Three Minute Warning.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Right now, I'd say its Hulk Hogan.
Guest ISportsFan Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Lex Luger, Konnan, Kevin Nash after about 1996, Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper when he became an old man. Basically, the entire WCW upper-card during their run on top of the wrestling world. Jason
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I hate to say it, but Brock Lesnar. His face just negates the badassness the guy has.
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 right now, and always, the Undertaker as "American Badass". Damn cocksucker looks more like American Lameass..
Guest Redhawk Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Hulk Hogan -- Especially recently, as he tries to be cool by cussing and making up lame-ass insults (Rock of Jabroni, "Baldie" to Kurt Angle). But my favorite was during his last run with WCW, when he started wearing that "FUBAR" vest and was driving a hummer and picking on Billy Kidman. He was basically trying to be Stone Cold. Undertaker -- Whenever he wears that shirt with the REALLY low neck line, or whenever he doesn't wear a shirt. Stephanie McMahon -- I just can't see her as anything but a spoiled brat. Even her rap music entrance theme and booking her as a babyface doesn't work. Konnan -- Just look at him. Then listen to him. He was a parody of a Hispanic gangbanger.
Guest Downhome Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I always found humor in Albert-Train as the Hip-Hop Hippo.
Guest razazteca Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Eddie Guerrero was just as bad as Konnan when he was Latino Heat with Chyna..........I hated those days.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 RVD trying to cut a promo in WWE. I can't see where RVD's promos are that bad. *shrugs* He's STILL better than Triple H..at least RVD dosen't ramble for half an hour.
Guest Downhome Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 RVD trying to cut a promo in WWE. I can't see where RVD's promos are that bad. *shrugs* He's STILL better than Triple H..at least RVD dosen't ramble for half an hour. At least HHH can be intense, and actually look intimidating when he wants to. Perhaps not here lately, but he does have the ability when he has his heart into it. I have never seen RVD do anything believable in these terms in WWE, other than playing the VERY same character showing the very same emotion every time. He really needs to be more flexable. Yet another reason I'm totally behind an RVD heel turn.
Guest Redhawk Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Eddie Guerrero was just as bad as Konnan when he was Latino Heat with Chyna..........I hated those days. I wouldn't say Latino Heat was as bad as Konnan, because Eddie was supposed to be a kind of funny character. Konnan was totally serious and was supposed to be a badass.
Guest razazteca Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Jericho as the Undisputed Champion was bad, especially when he would get angry and complain alot. DDP as Mr Smilie Christian as the cry baby

Yet another reason I'm totally behind an RVD heel turn. Again, I don't see the point of it. A heel turn REQUIRES a good/great promo ability (unless you plan to push him as a Hoss, which isn't going to happen). In the WWE, where guys can get away with the same character for years..(Austin, Hogan, Dudleys, etc) and only the smarks really bitch..RVD dosen't need a heel turn. That's the worst thing that can happen, considering it'd kill all of his heat. I think promo ability is overrated, anyway. Some guys just don't need it. RVD's charisma lies in his flash (in the ring) so why not let the guy showcase his skills? In fact, some guys are better off without promo time..

I like to use comas.

In ECW, he showed me all I need to see that he can be a hell of a heel. He wont have to change much at all, it's just, his cocky character is much more suited for it. It would drive fans fucking crazy, and could be huge. Hell, with the perfect manager with him, it could be that much more anger inducing for the fans with the way he acts. It isn't a true change he needs in character, he just needs to start doing as he's done, as a heel. If you have seen him in ECW, I will asume you know where I'm coming from.

ECW's a different story entirely. Even the slightest hint of a guy "selling out", and they were all over him. That's where the base for the RVD heel character came in..the whole "Mr. Monday Night" bit. WWE fans aren't quite as stupid, unless your name is Rock (Lesson: Try advancing yourself, and people hate you) Besides, a heel turn requires wins, and right now RVD would be fourth at best (under HHH-uh, Rock, and Jericho) ..meaning he wouldn't get anywhere that way. It also requires some smart booking/writing, which they just aren't capable of. The only thing they'd do with him is make him Jericho v 2.0 (whiny loser). Advancement on Raw is just screwed either way. Nobody's going to get over as a face or a heel with Triple Albatross holding everybody back. Add in Austin ("Job me and I'll leave") and Golberg (Yeah, sure..) and there's no chance in hell.
Guest eiker_ir Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Hogan doing Crotch Chops during the nWo return last year...
Guest fazzle Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Randy Savage "Stupid Perseeeeeeeooon" and of course the more recent "I'll snap you bitch!"
Guest CanadianChick Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 X-Pac always seemed to try to act cool, but usually, he failed. Oh well, that was entertaining in itself.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 X-Pac. He just reminded me of one of those kids who hangs with the tough kids, but isn't tough. I guess the Clique similarities of that sentence fits him. Bart Gunn. Legit or not, the guy was a freakin' cowboy for 6 years...I just couldn't see the toughness. EDIT:LOL, nice CC. Glad to see you think like me .
Guest CanadianChick Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I got a funny quote as an example of X-Pac failing to be cool. Thanks Edge! And as far as being part of the most popular group in WWF history, well, hanging out with really cool people does not make you a really cool person. Oh and by the way, 1998 called and they're sick and tired of you, so feel free to join us in the year 2001 anytime. - Edge to X-Pac
Guest Zack Malibu Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Mysterio during the Filthy Animals days. He looked like a kid you'd see at the mall, wearing Fubu and trying to look cool while waiting for his mom to come pick him up in the family van.

Not much. And Juvi too. Regardless of talent (and I like both guys)...Juvi looks way too effeminate, and wearing a fur coat on TNA last week was a bad move. Palumbo nowadays, wearing the sunglasses and beret in the FBI graphic on Smackdown looks like a tool.
