Guest Downhome Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 As reported by 1wrestling earlier today... "Eddy Guerrero and Rey Misterio Jr. have been negotiating contracts with the WWF in recent weeks. It appears that Misterio Jr. has either signed a deal or will be doing so in the very near future. I have heard from a few people that Misterio Jr. has cancelled his recent indie bookings, which would be a sign that he may have signed already. It seems extremely likely that Misterio will be in the WWF very soon. As for Guerrero, it also appears he too is close to returning to the WWF. A few indie promoters that I have talked to have told me that Guerrero is not taking bookings after the next month or so, so it appears he is on his way back to the WWF. He does also have bookings for New Japan lined up, so that too could be why he is lightening his indy schedule. For the record, I just found out the person that I have contacted at the WWF earlier today is out of the office. I felt that needed to be said." ...I pray to GOD hoping that this means they are FINALLY ready to become serious about a CruiserWeight division now that the split is happening. Perhpas the rumors of them making Flair's group more focused on WRESTLING is indeed true! Hmmm... ...perhaps they will be "suprise drafts" this coming Monday night? What do ya'll think of this? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 We can only pray that Eddy and Rey will grace us with their presence and give us 20 minute cruiser matches that highlight everything good about the cruiser division.
Guest Brian Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Let Rey and Tajiri kick-start the division, Eddie should be used as an upper mid-carder.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Well, Rey is past his prime, but he's still good. And he's one of the most well know cruisers in America, so I think he could help make the WWF Cruiserweight division respected. But they should use him to build up new cruiserweight stars, too. Eddy, on the other hand, should be in the IC division. Eddy v. RVD *drool*
Guest converge241 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Thyeve been rumored for a while and I hope it comes through. I miss seing Rey wrestle on a regular basis. Dlo should be ther too.
Guest Dace59 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Two of the versions of the Original Frog Splash (Barr's original one was the move now commonly as the Lo'Down) face off, cool! Rey Jr. Who want's to see him in the LionTamer again? Wonder how he'd take a Gore?
Guest Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 I'll be glad to see Eddy Guerrero back. I've never really liked Rey Mysterio Jr and I always thought he was overrated. Especially in the last few months of WCW, when the main moves he did were hurricanranas and the bronco buster. I also don't like his stupid mexican thug gimmick he started using. They better send Rey Mysterio to OVW or HWA for a couple of weeks before putting him on tv, because he's probably out of shape and alot of blown spots won't get the cruiserweight division off to a good start.
Guest dreamer420 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Am I the only one praying that Eddy has his life together now? Also does anyone know if the WWF is planning on calling up Shannon Moore and Jamie Knoble to participate in the draft and be a part of the CW division.
Guest Kramerica Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Fuck those two. Rey is a gimp and Eddy is an addict. When Hall's shit wasnt together all people did was rag on him. Eddy crashes through a fucking house, he could have killed people, and people still have a hard on for "Latino Heat". Fuck both of them, and since WWF likes hiring fuckups(nWo, Eddy) and gimps (nWo, Rey) give us THE JUICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 I'd be pleasantly suprised if they brought Eddy back in so soon. I don't think he's been sober long enough to prove his problems are all behind him. Scott Hall was treated differently because he was seen as an integral part of the NWO. Bringing Eddy back to help the Cruiserweight divison isn't on the same level IMO.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Supposedly, Eddy has his shit together. That's just what I've heard, but he's been getting rave reviews in the indies, and I haven't heard anything about him having any substance problems.
Guest Some Guy Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Kramerica has a point about the double standard. But Eddy has seeming recovered and Rey was healthy at the end of WCW, presumably he still is. Rey modified his style to not kill himself which is good. They need to put him in real wrestling tights, the pants are way too bush league. Eddy could fit into the IC or Cruiser picture, considering he has held both titles. Rey would be a good start for the Cruisers. Picking up some of the Indy guys who were on teh WWA ppv and using some of their delvopmental talent as well as teh cruisers who are on TV and they have a pretty #### good division.
Guest Downhome Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Eddy Guerrero the WWA Cruiserweight champion? I believe at the most recent WWA PPV he defended his title succesfully and then Jerry Lynn debuted and laid Eddy out saying he was going to take the title from him... ...I wonder if they'll just strip Eddy of the belt, or if Eddy will wait untill after the next WWA PPV to come to the WWF. I believe their next show is in April, once again, correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Guest Some Guy Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Does it really matter what they do with the WWA cruiser title? The promotion is just about dead in the water anyway. They'll just strip him of the belt, or WWF will let him jog it to Lynn (very unlikely).
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 It's WWA, I'm sure Eddy doesn't give a shit. When they put it on him, they took the risk, knowing full well, that the WWF could pick him up at any moment. It's there own fucking fault for not putting guys under contracts.
Guest What?! Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Can Rey Misterio Jr. put his mask back on or is that against Mexican Wrestling Culture? Only asking because his "street" gimmick was kind of lame.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Well, he could put the mask back on, but then he'd piss off the entire of Mexico, and could probably never wrestle there again. And I agree, the street gimmick was pretty fucking stupid.
Guest One Bad Apple Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Kramerica has a point about the double standard. Kramerica also started a topic asking everyone to join a gang dedicated to murdering Test. For the record, I just found out the person that I have contacted at the WWF earlier today is out of the office. I felt that needed to be said. What is that about? Well, he could put the mask back on, but then he'd piss off the entire of Mexico, and could probably never wrestle there again. Considering you said that Kenta Kobashi was crippled a month or two ago, I don't think anyone should take most of what you have to say about wrestling outside of the United States very seriously. In fact, I don't think anyone should take most of what you have to say about United States wrestling very seriosuly, either.
Guest WWF4Life Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Didn't Rey start wearing that swank half-mask just before WCW was sold? That was a pretty good idea, as he still keeps to the luchadore tradition, but with a little bit of sports entertainment thrown in. Isn't Guerrero in New Japan though? I thought he'd be put in the BOTSJ this year.
Guest Dace59 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 give us THE JUICE! Didn't he get fired for drugs problems too?
Guest Kevin Sullivan Booked My Divorce Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Didn't Rey start wearing that swank half-mask just before WCW was sold? Well he had horns, if that's what you mean. Oh, and Eddy Guerrero never crashed through somebody's house.
Guest Human Fly Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 The day after the WWF releases their statement about not releasing any info to websites 1Bob just hapens to have a day full of big news stories. Ryder will probably chime in later today with an article called "For the draft to really work the WWF needs to bring in Goldberg and Sting"
Guest converge241 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Yes 1popup will suddendly have breaking news about Bret Hart returning and what Shawn Michaels' role will be on Monday. Maybe even a new update about MECW having a ppv this sunday **guffaw**
Guest The Masked Yodeler Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Considering you said that Kenta Kobashi was crippled a month or two ago, I don't think anyone should take most of what you have to say about wrestling outside of the United States very seriously. Kobashi is crippled. He came back for one match, against his doctors orders, and hurt his knees even worse. So he's on the injured list again, and it's questionable if he'll ever wrestle again. And masks are a big deal in Mexico. If I remember correctly, Psicosis wore his once in Mexico so he could do a mask v. mask match after he lost it in WCW, and the fans were really pissed off.
Guest Kinetic Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 I was thinking to myself today: "Kinetic, do you know what the WWF needs? More wrestlers!" And then this happens. How fortuitous. The most bloated roster in the history of wrestling is about to pick up some more deadweight. Don't get me wrong, I like Rey and Eddie. But the last thing the Fed needs right now is more talent, when they're not even using a lot of the people they have now.
Guest razazteca Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Rey Misterio and Eddy Guerrero would be a great addition to WWF but how are going to be booked? I really don't want to see Jr vs Nash again. As for the mask issue is a very confusing to me, Psicosis lost his mask but now another luchadore wears the mask as part of team Los Vipers. It would probably be a bad idea if Rey Jr. wore the mask, since he could piss off the wrong people.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 And masks are a big deal in Mexico. If I remember correctly, Psicosis wore his once in Mexico so he could do a mask v. mask match after he lost it in WCW, and the fans were really pissed off. Are these the same fans in Mexico who watch the silly midgets and guys with clown masks wrestle every week on CMLL and AAA? I watch that stuff for comedy purposes and boy is that a joke.

He has been working at least once a week in Tijuana and a little bit for EMLL. He looks as good as he was in 1995 at times as of late Tim
