WWF BACKLASH 2002 PREVIEW

Over the course of the month after Wrestlemania, the WWF promotes Backlash as the night of Hulk Hogan’s last wrestling match ever, as he teams with the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin against Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and X-Pac.  WWF Champion Triple-H fights to a no contest with former champ Chris Jericho after Jericho turns on Stephanie and turns back face in the process.  The Undertaker is built up as the next challenger for Triple-H.  HHH lost to Taker at Wrestlemania 17 and feels the need to prove to himself that he can beat the Taker.  Also, the match is both men’s specialty: #### in a Cell.  After his feud with HHH, Jericho moved down the card a bit.  He was talking to someone backstage and made a wise crack about Booker T’s intelligence.  This led to Booker interfering in one of Jericho’s matches, causing him to lose.  Jericho continues to make fun of Booker T over the next month until their match at Backlash.  After his Wrestlemania loss to DDP, Christian had been on a tear.  He cost DDP the European title against William Regal, he then beat DDP in a grudge match, and gained victories over numerous other superstars, including pinning Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam in a tag team match.  This leads to RVD vs Christian for the Intercontinental title at Backlash.  Brock Lesnar had a great debut in the WWF, decimating several undercard performers in the middle of a hardcore match.  With the leadership of Paul Heyman, he seems unstoppable.  He is undefeated so far in his one month WWF career, and faces The Hurricane at Backlash.  Hurricane seems to think that his superhero quickness and intelligence far surpasses the power of Brock.  Also under the tutelage of Paul Heyman are former tag team champions The Dudley Boyz.  They have been taking out everyone in their path ever since they took out former “Duchess of Dudleyville” Stacy Keibler.  Stacy looked to the APA for protection.  This gives us a falls count anywhere ECW style garbage brawl that will be sure to use a ton of tables, chairs, and whatever else the competitors can find in the arena.  A new team with a huge cult following has developed quickly in the WWF.  That is the team of Perry Saturn and Raven.  These “outcasts” were the subject of several insulting skits by WWF Tag Team Champions Billy Gunn & Chuck Palumbo.  Raven & Saturn look to get revenge and the tag team titles at Backlash. Look for the champs’ stylist Rico Constantino to get involved in this one.  The Hardy Boyz have been showing a dark side lately, ditching Lita and taking on a heel role.  Lita bounced back with her new crew, the team of Shannon Moore and AJ Styles.  These two have faced the Hardy Boyz in the past with different partners, but never together.  The Hardys have been expanding their moveset quite a bit lately to try and keep up with the new wave of Team Xtreme.  Edge decided to interrupt former friend Kurt Angles’ promo to inform him that HE was the fans’ hero, not Kurt.  Fans love Edge and hate Angle with a passion, so a grudge match is made.  Also, European Champion William Regal defends against former ally Yoshihiro Tajiri.  The event is sold out and looks to be the best outing from the WWF in a while.

Feedback of all kinds is welcome and encouraged.

Apparently I can't use the "H-E-Double Hockeysticks" word on this board, but I think you got the picture.

That's probably a better scenario than the WWF actually has planned.

And can any of the administrators drop the filters?  We can't use the name of a match type and names of events because H-e-l-l comes out ####.

Personally I think that that Backlash card and buildup would be excellent and you should be on the WWF booking team because if that were to happen I would definetly buy the PPV.
