Need to keep HHH strong for Goldberg

Recommended Posts

Guest nikowwf

Just looking at Dave's thoughts over at 1Bob and it seems they want to keep HHH strong for Goldberg by putting him over Booker so HHH/Goldberg can highlight the first (and most likely horrible) Raw only PPV.

Now, is it just me or are there 2 more freaking PPV's until June. Is HHH going to sit in the ring by himself masturbating while Flair declares him the greatest ever? Or is he going to squash Booker 2 more time and piss us all off where we don't get the PPV's. Or what? Austin? Sh*t, they shouldn't burn that out too quick.

sigh...

If HHH and Goldberg are the only "highlights" left on RAW, I think I'll find something else to do with my Monday nights.

Well, that's stupid. The Raw PPV isn't for another 3 months. Triple h is gonna run over everyone (nothing new there) until he jobs the title to Goldberg in June?

I wonder if Goldberg could even make it to June. If fan support doesn't wane, surely he'll prove to be a liability in the ring beforehand.

Oh yeah Buddha forbid that HHH lose. It would totally destroy his credibility and he'd be on the same level as Brooklyn Brawler.

Goldberg is scheduled to make his WWE debut tonight on RAW and start a feud with the Rock. The two are slated to headline the Backlash PPV. After that, the plan is to have Goldberg feud with Triple H leading up to the first ever RAW-only PPV, Bad Blood. The two are set to headline that show in a match for the World Heavyweight Title. WWE did not put Booker T over Triple H at WrestleMania because they wanted to keep Triple H as a strong heel opponent for Goldberg.

- Kevin Nash is also expected to return tonight on RAW under the Diesel gimmick. Nash already had his hair died pure black at Axxess, which is an obvious sign of things to come. WWE felt that the fans did not respond to Kevin Nash as himself last year after the nWo fell apart, which is why they are going with the Diesel return.

I know the logic in keeping the World belt on HGH, rather than put it on Booker short term, but they didn't have to beat Booker clean, and in a way that made him look weak. They could have had HGH cheat, so there could be a rematch, and stretch this issue out a little more. But of course, we can't have Godruple H looking anything but dominant over everyone.

Well if it's gonna be HHH and Goldberg in June, I won't even waste my money going. As for tonight, I got a whole fridge full of beer....that will be gone by the end of the show, and so will I

So this means HHH will have had the belt for almost 10 months not counting the 3 weeks HBK had it when he faces Goldberg. Ughhh.

I will buy any PPV which Goldberg is on, as long as they are dealing with him the right way. I am sure I'm not the only one, and I know that isn't true actually. I've had a number of friends and family to say the very same thing to me. People which have not seen wrestling since 2000 or so.

Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. But if I hear that big rig horn blow and that blues riff kick in, I am gonna mark out. I know he sucks, I know he tore his quad from a simple step-over, I know he helped crash n burn WCW. I know he was the worst drawing WWF champ ever.

But there's something I like about "Big Daddy Cool"

Whatever...HHH has been around long enough and gone over enough people that a loss to Booker would not have hurt his credibility one bit. Really who gives a shit if HHH/Goldberg is for the #2 belt in the company? They could have the match without a title on the line and it wouldn't make a bit of difference. HHH is just unwilling to put over anyone who isn't a friend or someone who he sees as an equal draw (Rock, Austin, Goldberg).

So when is Booker going to be on Heat with Steiner, Kane and RVD?

That would make Heat a hell of a lot more entertaining than Raw has been lately.

Then why weren't they buying these shows in 1999 and 2000 and 2001? The WWE product is not much better

So now the Raw MEs are going to be Austin, Rock, Nash, HHH, Michaels, and Goldberg? This is just ridiculous.

Well Rock will be gone after next month and if you believe the reports that Austin might only have a non-wrestling role on t.v. after June then it will be HHH, Nash, Michaels, Goldberg. *sigh*

Way to build up new stars, Vince.

BTW, was Bischoff on the show and I didn't notice? Strange that he would be left off the show... not that I'm complaining...

Why are they saving HHH for Goldberg anyway and did it even say that he'll job the belt to him then? We're just assuming here, but HHH could easily find a way out of jobbing the belt to Goldberg. I see him losing to Nash before he does to Goldberg, actually.

And what if he does lose to Goldberg, why is he getting the belt after a couple of months with the company? How do they know that he won't crash and burn just like Steiner did? Jesus, this is ridiculous. What is the big deal about Goldberg anyway? He's just another prick who thinks he's a huge star and with WWE's shitty booking, he is fucking HIT when the novelty of seeing him on TV again wears off.

What's worse is none of them are going to wrestle live.

There was plenty of time to "build up" HHH again before a Goldberg feud.

So now, Booker becomes wrestler #453 who just can't get the job done against HHH.

The only reason I'm watching tonight to see if Mr. Hair Care tears his quad again.

not a big goldberg fan either but for the sake of the company,

he HAS to squash HHH in under 5 minutes at the may ppv.

goldberg squashes rock in 5 minutes in april

goldberg squashes hhh in 5 minutes in may (how they'll get

hhh to do this is beyond me)

goldberg squashes hhh again in 6 minutes in june

goldberg squashes nash (if he's still around) in 5 minutes in july

goldberg loses to austin at summerslam

austin loses in a "retirement match" to y2j (but i think the y2j

boat just sailed way at wm19)

Rock's not here, and Austin won't wrestle possibly? Once you got to the 5th or 6th match of a Raw PPV, you'd be throwing heat matches out there.

I think WWE better just start a new brand extension on Heat, extend the show to 2 hours, Just move, RVD, Jericho, & some lower card guys, along with lower card guys from Smackdown, and just have the HEAT BRAND. Just don't have ppvs for them. That is about the only way any of those guys are gonna get to go over someone else.

I know you didn't say that it would happen, but you will never see that. There is no way that they're gonna let Goldberg beat those three in under 10 minutes, just not gonna happen. They may be idiots and put the belt on him without him earning it, but they won't squash three guys like that in order to do so. I don't think I'd even wanna see that. Face it, he's gonna be gone within months, probably before the year's out, as his dedication to wrestling is just non-existent and everyone knows it.

true, but with using only one roster for a ppv, how can you

keep 8 sets of wrestlers from wrestling each other for 4 weeks

on 2 hours of tv every monday night? i don' t think the wwe

is creative enough to do that.

with baseball season here, wwe should go to a records format.

3 divisions - heavyweight, intercontinental, and tag.

6-8 wrestlers/teams per division. keep wins/loss/dq totals.

include houseshows (making them meaningful). champion faces

high point total guy at ppv. the lowest point total guy after

3 or 4 ppvs, gets bumped down to intercontinental and bump up

the IC champ to heavyweight. they might as well make clear

distinctions instead of "glass ceilings". everyone can monitor

the standings on wwe.com. hell, this could even result in stuff

like fantasy wwe and stuff like that. they should test this out

on heat for a bogus title.

Who wants to bet that they'll give Nash a quickie title reign from Backlash to Judgment Day before he loses it back to HHH?
