Real Time: with Bill Mahr

I think this show is leaps and bounds better than Politically Incorrect, but it is a shame that the exposure will be limited due to the show being on HBO. I like the hour format and the guy who does the "news" every week is a riot. The comedians are decent, I like how they aren't just typical stand-up comedians, they all have a drastically different type of approach. So what do you guys think of the show?

I dig it. Far superior to PI. Larry Miller seems to have a leveling affect on the other guests (and the audience for that matter), I'm glad he's a regular.

Plus it has a great timeslot, right between Bullshit and Ali G, two solid hours of sick social commentary, what?

I was marking out so hard when i saw the trailers for this show. Bill Maher is by far my favorite comedian and my life became meaningless when PI got cancelled (ok, not really), until real time of course. I had truely missed the inevitable 1 person who you just want to jump into the tv and smack senseless.

this show is everything that was great about PI, but with more added on to it. it's like PI, Dennis Miller, and Daily Show all rolled up. And on a channel like HBO, censors aren't a concern anymore so no holding back!

Yeah, being on HBO really allows you to see what Maher is really like and what PI should've been had it not been on network TV. I can't think of a better lead-in for Da Ali G. Show. (replays of the entire first season start Sunday April 6th)

I don't get HBO, but I was able to catch it one time when I was crashing at my parents place. And what I saw, I liked. I think Bill Mahr is better suited in a medium where he doesn't have to worry about saying the wrong word or statement. I also like how he will have a diverse group of guests, from what I saw. I like Bill Mahr, so I am happy that he was able to recover from PI. My biggest problem with PI was the constant breaks, which disrupted the flow of the show consatantly. This show has no problem like that. I also tend to fiind myself agreeing with what he says, so that is another added bonus.

I like Larry Miller and think he is pretty smart and funny, however the past few weeks, he seems to be holding back or just not getting in depth enough for my liking. I mean he will be presented with examples of why our leadership is questionable in some aspects and his response is simply, "look, I think these people are tremendous, and great etc...." but he won't DIRECTLY answer back to the questions. He is still cool in my book though. He seems like he wants to be more conseravtive opinioned than he leads on. I keep waiting for him to jump down someone's throat when arguing, hahaha.....

I like the show and Bill Mahr is even funnier now then he was on PI. But I don't really like that Paul F Tompkins guy, I don't think he's funny at all and brings the show down a bit. He'd be an ok guest but I don't want to see him every week.

Long live the Marijuanaloges!
