Guest Just call me Dan Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 That is one hell of an idea. He'll need to win another PPV match or two to keep his superman rub, we don't want him turning into hogan. I think that is a great idea, and I am also seeing much potential in austin being portrayed as washed up. I'd love to see him return to the heel persona and light up the small screen for another year. He doesn't need to be face again until his last few matches. Hopefully we aren't seeing those very soon.
Guest Brian Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 I figure eventually their going to break-up the Rhyno team and he's due to run against Brock. You turn him uber-heel by having him "break" Austin's neck. SmackDown needs a strong heel force, and it would allow Benoit to excel in the silent killer roll since he's already established motivation for going after the title. I would put him over Brock, give him some time before coming back to Austin, and have Austin take it.
Guest JMTapes Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 I'd like to see Brock VS. heel Austin, but he would have to be the '96 heel Austin, not the Alliance retard "what" heel. -JM
Guest Stunt Granny Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Why turn Benoit heel? He has zero charisma to pull it off and is much much better as a face. Turn Austin heel because Brock is the No. 1 face on SD! and Austin as No. 1 face is no good. Turn him heel, give him one more run at the top with the title then he hangs 'em up. Time is running out for Austin. It's too bad they turned him heel 2 years ago because now seem like the perfect time to do it. And like some have said Austin could be a great bastad heel and not the cookie eating, singing, hugging, gay heel Austin that we saw in the past.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Actually Benoit has better charisma as a heel and his in-ring charisma is much better. By charisma I don't mean "bullshit your way into or out of anything" Rock style charisma. By charisma i mean "no nonsense take no shit tell you exactly how it is" Arn Anderson style charisma. Benoit is best suited as a silent assassin. Benoit is the type who uses action instead of words to get his character across. However, If WWe isn't comfortable with a main eventer who doesn't talk much, they could give him Heyman or give him Shane McMahon again.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 I don't think it's really fair for the guy, turning him heel now. He got a standing ovation at the Rumble, and the fans HAVE been cheering him lately.. ..why ruin it? Turn someone else heel. It's not like the WWE's been pushing Benoit as a face, so it seems to me like he's gotten that over on his own.
Guest Goodear Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 People always clammor for Benoit's "silent assassin heel" character, but overlook his far superior "takes a ass whomping but is just too goddamn mean to stay down face" character. I think the second plays a lot better to Benoit's strengths right now.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Actually Benoit has better charisma as a heel and his in-ring charisma is much better. I disagree. In practically all aspects, including in-ring charisma, Benoit has gotten his message across far, far better as a face then as a heel. It's definitely been the case since he came back last July. Benoit is the type who uses action instead of words to get his character across. He's been doing that as a face, with better results than when he was a heel. So what's the problem? Seriously, if they turn him heel for the sake of fucking RHYNO I'll be disgusted.
