Guest chirs3 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 --> Ok, seriously... Edge needs his trenchcoat and sunglasses back, and he needs to go shirtless again. No, I'm not one to enjoy staring at topless guys, but he looked so much cooler that way. --> Speaking of Edge, his match tonight: Good match. Very good match. Angle's commentary could've been a little better, but it wasn't painful to hear, like a few certain someone's who shall remain nameless. --> Regal/APA/DDP skit: Good skit. --> Hall/Nash: Not-so-good skit... I suppose it goes without saying that Nash could benefit from some acting lessons... --> RVD Interview... erm... not-so-hot... I'd prefer if he kept the line "Everything's cool when you're ROB VAN DAM"... --> I wonder if Flair will get to pick three wrestlers at once, after Vince drafts the NWO... Vince immediately starts out with Hall, Nash, and Pac, and Flair gets to pick three right off the bat... --> Hurricane! He got squishied, but it was on Smackdown! Movin' on up! On a related note, that Brock Lesnar scares the crap out of me. That clothesline he gave Molly was brutal. --> "I want you to draft me so every day of your life can be a Wrestlemania moment." ... what? --> That reminds me - the era of "WHAT?!" during interviews is gone! It's been gone for a while... I just noticed it tonight is all... --> Wow, Rock got his ass whipped. Your Randumb Thoughts?
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I thought Smackdown was entertaining. The tag womens match was better than I expected. X-Pac looks weird without long tights. The WWF did some editing during the last minute of the show.
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Heh. I forgot to say whether I liked the show or not. --> Yes, I did. Entertaining, with a few above average matches... above average for Smackdown, I mean. --> And yes, Pac looks a little strange without the black and neon green trademark... --> Someone mentioned this on the Raw thread, and I agree with it: Heyman needs a tennis racket. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted March 22, 2002 They edited out the "spits" and "swallows" chants toward Chuck & Billy. I guess I should have expected it, but it looked strange to see a crowd really enjoying themselves during a Hardyz-Ambiguously Gay Duo match. And, seriously, what in the blue #### was Jeff wearing on his face during their entrance? Lawler said it was a jock strap, and I would tend to agree with him. I don't even want to consider why Jeff Hardy might own a flourescent jock strap.
Guest mastermind Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Yeah, I liked smackdown as well. The nWo is missing someone of a heel champ like Hogan was. Yes, it's a cry to turn Triple H heel. Then he would be easily the most over and the nWo will have some legs to run on.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I don't know how it came across on TV, since I haven't seen the show yet, but Jeff Hardy looked EXACTLY like Carrot Top in person. BTW, I think if was a shirt that Jeff had wrapped around his face.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Jeff was wearing a mask. It looked somewhat like a muzzle.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I think Jeff was wearing a thong on his face. I think that if Jericho was allowed to have given a promo like the one tonight 2 weeks ago, there would have been far more heat on the Mania match. Good show overall, but X-pac looks even skinnier in the short tights.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Oh yeah.. Rico! RICO! He is NOTHING. NOTHING!!!! Compared to Kwee Wee. The REAL disguntled stylest with questionable sexual preferences...
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 22, 2002 When Jeff Hardy came out with that "thing" on his face, I thought it was Glacier after a severe heroin/diet pill binge. Good wrestling all across the board for a change. Of course with the advent of Vince's Sport Entertainment Follies next Thursday, I'm not going to expect that level of wrestling for long. Re: the Steph Laff-a-Lympics Video - God, even when HHH rags on Steph, she still gets major face time. I'm telling you, StephTV, All Steph, All the Time is here, and unless someone pins her on Monday, it's here to stay. Not too impressed with the Rico character. I mean, c'mon, how far are they going to push the gay-but-not-gay-but-might-be-gay thing before we get another "the West Hollywood Blonds are really brothers" cop-out? Memo to X-Pac: put your pants on. No one want to see you in your Underoos. No matter how much fun they are to wear. And this goes without saying: Get rid of Micheal Cole NOW! That is all. Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Well, this is a shock. The WWF actually stringed together two decent shows. RAW was a little storyline heavy but enjoyable (main event excluded) and Smackdown had better matches. Will the draft make it three decent shows in a row? Guest KOR420 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Can anybody tell me why X-Pac looks like a second rate Stevie Richards with the half shirt and the short shorts? put some pants on X-Pac, without his shirt and the short tights he looks like a little kid running around in his underwear?!
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2002 They all are running around in their underwear. But I get your point.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Surprised more of you guys aren't freaking out about the chances of Stephy winning the belt improving with them changing the match to a 3 way. I know the announcement put horrible images in my head that i can't get rid of.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 This was a decent Smackdown, helped by a good crowd (for a change, it's nice to hear a crowd go "OHHHHHHHH!" when someone kicks out, as opposed to the usual *silence*). Cole & Lawler were pretty horrible, as usual. Y'know, I could forgive Cole's lack of knowledge of various moves, if he just put some effort into selling some of the drama and psychology of the matches, as opposed to talking about things totally unrelated to the people currently in the ring. Even Vince could do that, and he wasn't exactly everyone's favorite announcer. Tajiri/Test, Booker/Edge, and the women's match (thankfully, Lita was hardly in it) were all pretty decent. And not having read the Smackdown spoilers yet, I'm assuming that "Rico" the stylist is Rico Constantino finally making his debut? I marked out when X-Pac ran down for the save. It was cool to see the "Clique" nWo reunited, and I liked his new outfit. I hope they go back to calling him Syxx again (because "Syxx sucks!" isn't as catchy)

I know the announcement put horrible images in my head that i can't get rid of. We've already exhausted our spleens on Steph's chances in previous threads. We're pretty much standing in the crosshairs with blindfolds on and cigarettes in our mouths, praying that the bullets are duds.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Argh the Audience chanting "Syxx Sucks" would be horrible. To get the full effect just say it to yourself 10 times straight. However Syxx was his best name and was his best character so screw the chants.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Yeah, try saying 'Syxx Suxx' ten times in a row!
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2002 OK, El Satanico. Sorry I copied your idea. Your post was not there when i wrote it but we both had the same thought.

Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2002 When I read it, I pushed 'add reply' then I decided to say it ten times and got tongue-twisted. As for Syxx's involvement in the NWO, I personally could care less if the three of them are all gone by the end of next week. While I can appreciate some of their matches, none of them, including Syxxpackid, have done anything in the last year to warrant taking up valuable tv time. Guest RickyB Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Not too impressed with the Rico character. I mean, c'mon, how far are they going to push the gay-but-not-gay-but-might-be-gay thing before we get another "the West Hollywood Blonds are really brothers" cop-out? LOL, I thought it was funny when they took the "brothers" angle. I think the idea was that they were just saying that they were brothers as a cover-up though. I haven't seen Rico yet... is it Rico Constantinato? I seen him on Metal one week and he impressed me, I wish they had Mike Sanders as their manager though - he was great on the mic in WCW and he could really be something in the WWF. Tony Schiavonne used to be great at selling the drama even when he was talking about the nWo he'd still usually go back to the match and sell the drama if something big happened. Guest converge241 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I wondered what the point was of giving Regal another title when they keep talking about demoting him to an announcer. Xpac did look extremely "odd" in the new outfit. Kurt was hilarious on commentary giving props to his 'homies" Brock looked killer , again. Book - Edge was a good match. It was good to see Nash actually pull off a powerbomb on Rock without "Gianting" him. Good show overall
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I haven't seen Rico yet... is it Rico Constantinato? Yes. And he reminded me of Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine in the X-Men movie... well, if Wolverine was an effeminate fashion consultant. And yes, overall it was a better than average show, with much more wrestling than I've been accustomed to in the past couple of months. ####, if this keeps up, I won't have anything to complain about... [Psst... the nWo is still here...] Oh, right...
