Mos Def Rock Band

Recommended Posts

Guest ant_7000

I like Mos Def and i've been wondering and waiting for his new album to drop, but this time he's coming with his all black rock band "BlackJack Johnson." The band will be a rap/rock hybrid similiar to Limp Bizkit and Likin Park try to do, the only thing thats hiphop about them is the way they dress. Im not into rock that much, but I do like Mos Def stuff so I might give this album a listen. Anybody heard of them? They have some songs that you can download of his songs at his website I believe at www.mosdefinitly.com

I think Body Count was a joke... Mos Def sounds serious.

Mos Def is a very respectable Hip-Hip Artist and you can see he respects all music...So this ought to be good...

So, it's pretty much Body Count 2K?

Body Count wasn't Rock/Rap though just rock. I hope it's not the played out Limp/LP sound. Something rawer like BC would be cool.

I'll have to check it out.

The Limp Bizkit/Linkin Park comparison scares me some, but Mos Def doesn't seem like the type of guy that would be behind something shitty like that.

I've heard a BJJ song early last year....off of a cable performance.

Not really into rock...but since I like Mos..I gave it a listen.

It wasn't half bad, although it's pretty much just rock. Didn't hear a rap/rock fusion at all.

That's good to hear.

Not that I have anything against rap/rock when it's done well(doesn't happen too often), but it's just too common place now and is worn out.
