Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Just thought I'd re-open a Thread about Holden Caulfield and his twisted mind. Since most of us all seem to adore the book or vehemently dispise it... Thoughts?
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted April 4, 2003 I just read it for the first time a few months ago and was shocked at how much I liked it. I usualy hate books of that kind. It felt like I was reading about myself at times. I guess that means I should grab a sniper rifle and get to climbing.

moral suasion 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Catcher in the Rye is my personal favorite book of all time. Anyone read any other Slainger? I think his short stories are particularly good. "Teddy" is my favorite of them.
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted April 15, 2003 For the first time, I am reading it this year. I am up to the part where he orders the prostitute, and just wants to talk to her. Then later, her pimp comes in, and attacks Holden for the remainder of the money he wanted. So far, this is an awesome book.
