Guest notJames Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Courtesy of Ashish and 411Wrestling (Bold emphasis mine) Matt put over the release of the Hardy Boys new book "Exist 2 Inspire" stating that it's a blueprint for those looking to make it in the business and what it's like to get there. Matt mentioned that he was really enjoying the opportunity as a singles star on Smackdown and feels that since going on his own it has allowed him to get a lot more credit for the work he does...he also joked that the best part of the job is slapping Shannon Moore around. He said that people always looked at Jeff's high spots when the Hardys were over as a tag team but they didn't appreciate his contributions as much because he wasn't as flashy. He said that having the team split up right now benefits and hurts them when it comes to promoting the new book because it gives them the opportunity to plug the book on both shows, yet they aren't the advertised product of the Hardy Boys. He joked that Shannon is gaining a lot of Mattitude and he's starting to get a better understanding of what it takes to make it in the WWE. He added that Shannon will be a future Cruiserweight Champion. He was very excited going to WrestleMania to work with Rey Mysterio. He says there has never been anything like him and there never will be again. He says that the Matt Facts are all his and the only one that he isn't credited with was the line "Matt doesn't send flowers, he only gives chocolate". He says they are all true and fans have started to like his Matt facts more then they actually like him. He added that his entrance was created by WWE Employee Adam Denucci but that the creation of Matt Hardy Version 1, Mattitude and the leader of the MF'ers is all his. He mentions that he has a lot more of great creative things in store for fans in the future provided the company will give him the go-ahead to use his ideas. He said he knew long ago that he would succeed in the business as a singles star and wanted to make sure he was prepared when he got his shot and it is a big reason why his material has done well. He said that Jeff needs to increase his responsibility and even though his passion has wavered he believes Jeff is starting to get excited about the business once again. He added that he doesn't think having Jeff on Smackdown would be enough to energize his passion but did say that it would help him get places on time a lot more often. He still feels the WWE made a mistake by not giving him a shot to take out Rey Mysterio back in January because it would have set him up in a short feud with Edge before eventually meeting with Rey at WrestleMania. He feels it would have given the storyline an even bigger boost but closed by saying that the most important thing is taking advantage of the chances you do get not sitting back and complaining about the ones you don't get. On the topic of making weight, Matt joked that he never really made weight and currently isn't light enough to be a cruiserweight. He says the first thing that established the Hardys as a team was the Tag Team Ladder match in 1999 against Edge and Christian at No Mercy. He is proud to have been a part of wrestling history because at that time nobody had ever put together a tag team ladder match and he says that the combined efforts of the Hardys and Edge and Christian were what helped make their battles true classics. He found the decision to relieve Paul Heyman of his head writing duties on Smackdown strange because he felt Paul was doing a good job. He said that it wasn't a talent or storyline situation that led to his removal but more of Paul not meeting deadlines and getting along with fellow writing team members. He feels that if something isn't broken you should leave it untouched. He stated that the last time Matt and Jeff worked an angle against each other the timing was wrong because the two of them were so over as babyfaces and their fanbase wasn't ready for it. He says that he feels he and Jeff will eventually get back together down the road but it will most likely be as Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy not as the Hardy Boys tag team. He also said he wouldn't mind working another angle with Jeff now that they have went their separate ways. The Hardy Boys book "Exist 2 Inspire" is available wherever books are sold and debuted at #7 on the NY Times best seller list.

Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Why was Albert even on that Championship tournament? What has he done? Mattitude should have been in that tournament, even if he would have lost in the first round.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Sorry, but I don't mind that Matt wasn't squashed in the first round like Rey was. He's facing Brock next week; it'll probably be the main even.
Guest creativename Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Matt joked that he never really made weight and currently isn't light enough to be a cruiserweight. Oh the humanity!! Wrestling has now lost all credibility.

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 4, 2003 Oddly, the whole storyline was Matt trying to drop to 220 and the WWE 2003 Preview magazine lists the Cruiser limit at 225.
