Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 14, 2003 OK I admit it..... Time Bandits and Ice Pirates both made me cry. Oh wait, that's not what you meant. Man, hate on Ice Pirates all you want, but don't be telling me you got something against Time Bandits. Terry Gilliam is swank (can't wait for Lost in La Mancha)

Man, hate on Ice Pirates all you want, but don't be telling me you got something against Time Bandits. Terry Gilliam is swank (can't wait for Lost in La Mancha) Sorry man I've seen Bandits, Fisher King, and 12 Monkeys and I just don't get it. I want to like them (Monty Python mark) but Terry's movie ideas are just too out there for me. I liked Fear and Loathing as much as the next guy (Depp and Del Toro were just SO damn good) but everything else just got abstract for me. Like in Bandits. When the dwarves and Kevin arrive in the Fortress of Ultimate Darkness (REAL subtle, BTW ) to fight evil and all that crap comes out to fight with them (Robin Hood, the cowboys, all that stuff) I still go "WTF!?" I guess I'm just not on the same wavelength.
