Guest godthedog Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 about the cobain thing: IIRC, M2 was doing their little day-long nirvana salute at about the time i registered for the new board, so that was the first date that came to my head. i could've used my real birthday, but that's no fun. so i just put that date in, wondering if anyone would ever pick up on it. speaking of coincidental dates...the 4th anniversary of the columbine massacre falls on easter sunday this year.

Guest Kinetic Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Is this thread, like, about anything? I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the narrative flow. Are we heading towards one of those weird, distressingly anti-climactic endings where you get sort of angry because you read all fucking 1,000+ pages and all the footnotes only to have the book end in a goddamn Don Gately flashback. Because I just don't feel like I have the time to deal with that. So, come on, guys: If we band together armed only with our collective wit and sense of community, we can save this thread. I won't lie to you; there's a long road ahead of us. It'll require total thread reconstruction from the bottom up. There may be casualties.

It's a massive novel, with a very sudden ending. However, going back and re-reading the first chapter--which, chronologically speaking, is the last thing that happens--supplies some answers to what happened to the characters.
