Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I've never seen CZW. With that said, how does it compare to XPW? I bought an XPW tape out of curiosity once and promptly returned it the same day. It was the biggest farce of a wrestling promotion I had ever witnessed. Is CZW built in the same vein as XPW or is it more workrate intensive? I'm just curious if it is worth pursuing. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 22, 2002 CZW has a lot of pretty good high-flying talent, the SATs and the Briscoes came from here. Their deathmatches also get worse and bloodier than perhaps any others in the world, and it's up to the individual as to whether that's a bad thing or a good thing. Their video production has that Feinstein/homemade feel to it, but it's better than XPW's pornoesque videos. As for angles, I haven't seen enough to be able to say, but they don't seem as ridiculous as XPW's stuff. And finally, Wifebeater is like a less innovative Tommy Dreamer, and Zandig is like a stronger Axl Rotten. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Guest gangsteruwa Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I just wanted to add this. Maybe it is just a bad experience for me, but if you do buy CZW tapes, don't buy from offthetoprope.com. I ordered a tape from them that was supposedly shipped out on the 18th of February, well its the 22nd of March now and I still have no tape. They have taken money out of my account. I have emailed them asking what has happened to my order and they do not respond at all. They have perhaps the worst custormer service I have ever dealt with they just lost me as a customer. I'm not asking for a boycott, I'm just warning other people that they might get screwed around with like I did. CZW is pretty good. I will say they are alot better than XPW. I think it was Hardcore Conception but I don't remember. I just remember the skits being extremely poor and the sound was really low. Just a pathetic presentation. Guest Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I go to a lot of CZW shows , they compare favorably as a company to XPW to me. They've toned down on the violence though and concentrate on wrestling a bit more. Unfortunately SAT ( including Red ) and Brian XL have left the company and Quiet Storm's status is in question , but they do have a lot of talent there and put on a good show. They are also very fan friendly and mak reps from their company available for any questions , they also take all fan suggestions and , in many cases , form their cards around matches the fans request. Needless to say I'm a big CZW fan , so maybe I'm a bit biased. Don't be a bit skeptical to pick up one of their shows on video , I would reccomend Stretched in Smyrna , Cage of Death III , They Said It Couldn't Be Done or Best of The Best. Those are some of their best / most acclaimed shows. OTTR , on the other hand , is horrible. They're the official CZW site took the message board off of their site because it was littered with posts complaining about OTTR's service. They have absolutely no consideration for their customers , reading their incredibly ridiculous FAQ will tell you that. Don't feel alone , either. I ordered tapes from them on February 16th and have also yet to recieve them. In addition I ordered some shows on the 28th so god knows when I'll get them. Don't worry as far as actually getting the tapes , because I know from a lot of people on CZW message boards that they do come... usually around the 5 week mark I hear. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 24, 2002 I second the warning about offthetoprope, I bought some tapes from them once and the quality was absolutely horrible, the worst I've ever seen in my life.
