Guest MRFTW Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Everytime I hear someone mention a great match from All Japan it usually involves either Misawa, Kobashi, Kawada, Akiyama, Taue, Jumbo and Tenryu verses either each other or a foreigner like Vader, Hansen, Willams, etc, and that's it. Didn't any matches worth mentioning happen between just 2 mid carders or did All Japan even have any(talented ones)?
Guest Luke Argyle Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 You'd HAVE to throw Kikuchi in there somewhere, but I don't know enough to speak on that. I hope someone will.

Fantastics vs. Joe Malenko/Kikuchi 9/1/90 (****3/4) That's about all that comes to mind, that doesn't involve the people you mentioned.
Guest MRFTW Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Well, I meant between just non foreigner mid carders actually. And ones that worked full time for All Japan too since I saw a match once between Sasuke/Hayabusa/TM4 vs Ogawa/Kakihara/Mossman in AJ that was quite good but that doesn't really count(towards what I was looking for).
Guest Jubuki Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 Well, there's always the Can-Ams vs. Kobashi/Kikuchi 5/92 match. Kobashi was still far removed from being a contender; I think 9/94 was his first TC shot, maybe it was before that, but I don't think it was close to the time of this match. There's a pretty nice Can-Ams vs. Kobashi/Asako match from 8/93 that springs to mind as well. Probably a lot of good Dan Kroffat in the 90-93 period that's worth seeing, as it pertains to regular midcarders.
Guest wolverine Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 True that 9/94 was his first title shot. Kobashi-Williams is another one of the more overrated AJPW matches of the decade, similar to both 1/95 60 min draws and the 12/95 tag finals.
Guest Sykotic2002 Posted March 24, 2002 Report Posted March 24, 2002 There was a Dan kroffat v. Rob Van Dam match from 1993(?) for the Junior Title which I thought was pretty good.
Guest wolverine Posted March 25, 2002 Report Posted March 25, 2002 There was a Dan kroffat v. Rob Van Dam match from 1993(?) for the Junior Title which I thought was pretty good. It was from 6/9/95. And the reason it was pretty good was 99.9% due to Kroffat.
Guest Captian Linger Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 I don't find 1/95 overrated at all...bah. And no, I don't care to elaborate just now. Hell, no one else did. Most people just say that the match is 'boring'.
Guest wolverine Posted March 26, 2002 Report Posted March 26, 2002 I don't find 1/95 overrated at all...bah. Neither does Chris Tabar, but then again, he thinks half the world is better than Misawa-Kawada 6/3/94.
