Guest goodhelmet Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 this is another subject of much debate. There have been many great feuds over the years. They have been backed up by great matches, great angles or just plain great moments. What's your choice? I've gotta go with Flair-Steamboat. It resulted in Steamboat becoming a world champion and that holds a special place in my heart. Plus, the matches were visual documents of how wrestling should be performed.
Guest KOR420 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Austin/McMahon had the wrestling world by the balls everyone was watching ####,i think my grandma was watching too!
Guest converge241 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Its hard to vote over Flair-Steamboat, but I had to go with Austin-Vince. Changed wrestling. I have a soft spot for Sting-Vader, I thought they worked great together. Rob Van Dam - Sabu was another great one
Guest krambigmac Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Flair Steamboat because it went for 12 yrs or so on and off and it was all about prestige plus they put on the holy trilogy of 89.
Guest JHawk Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 While Austin-McMahon was probably the most significant feud ever, the question asked for the best feud ever, and that series of Steamboat-Flair matches in 1989 blows them all away. Even their 1994 is better than most of the matches in the other choices minus maybe Sting-Vader.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 I liked all those feuds except HBK/Bret (There best stuff came behind the scenes), but I voted for Flair/Steamboat. Like krambigmac said, their feud was off and on for over 12 years. Sting/Vader was always good. Storyline wise, Austin vs. McMahon was the best, IMHO.
Guest razazteca Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Other I choose Beniot vs Kevin Sullivan this angle was about Woman who was Kevin's wife then and Chris' current wife, how can you forget the candle light dinner promos.Or Sullivan trying to convince Arn Anderson that Beniot was not worthy of joining the Horsemen which led to the Beniot vs Sullivan bathroom brawl. This feud basically made Beniot a fan favorite and elevated him to mid-card title contender.
Guest The Man They Call Texas Blu Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 I had to vote Austin vs. McMahon. As KOR420 said, everyone was watching. It took wrestling fans focus off the NWO, and back to the WWF. I might have even saved the WWF from the fate WCW had.
Guest The Man They Call Texas Blu Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven Not the best, but for the size of ECW, it was a classic. It even had the pefect ending as well, with Raven and Dreamer becoming friends. Extra points for Beulah too.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 To me, it was a tie between Austin vs. McMahon and nWo vs WCW because they both were the feuds that brought big-name status to there respective company. But I voted for Austin vs. McMahon because it brought bigger results and put WWF on the map.
Guest Drury37 Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 I voted for Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair because like a couple of people have said it lasted a long time and they never had a bad match. Thanks.
Guest Shawn Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 I'll have to go with Austin-McMahon. The feud built the WWF in the Attitude era and made it what I is today. Sure I could've picked an older classic but this was around the time I started consistantly watching...
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 Man, I thought Flair-Steamboat would win in a landslide but Austin-McMahon has pulled ahead. Come on old school fans, let the masters get their due!
Guest Some Guy Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 I voted for Sting/Vader. The sheer brutality of their matches causes me to pick it over the others. I've seen about 15 of tehir matches and everyone is **** or better. Watch the Strap match from Superbrawl 93, Vader was bleeding form the back because Sting whipped him so hard. They also had the only great strap match I've ever seen.
Guest The Winslow Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 For being Old School a lot of this stuff is fairly recent. How about Savage v. Flair?
Guest The Man in Blak Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 For historic value: Austin v. McMahon (my vote) Otherwise: Bret Hart v. Steve Austin
Guest gwf0704 Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 For the list mentioned it would be McMahon vs Austin as it was sheer drama. Old school would have to be waaaay back to Sammartino vs Zbysko. The master vs the student! Tag team is obviously Freebirds vs Von Erichs.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 Sting/Vader was consistently good and entertaining. Benoit and Jericho always have good feuds.
