What are all the American's take on Old Navy? I'm in Canada just north of the border. Thinking of making a trip down and getting some stuff. I often see Americans up here in their Old Navy garb.

What's the deal with Old Navy? It seems like fashionable clothes, yet the prices are cheap. Are the clothes solid quality? Is Old Navy considered cheap like getting clothes at Walmart or something?

Old Navy is run by the same corporation that owns GAP and Banana Republic. Same quality, better deals. You hit Old Navy on the right day, and it's like striking gold. During the end of the winter, I was getting T Shirts (long AND short sleeved) for $1.97, Jeans/pants for $6.00, and Sweaters or Button Downs for no more than $7.

In short, Old Navy rules.

Yeah it's good stuff, but the only time I ever shop there is when I'm looking for new jeans or shorts. However I haven't bought new pairs of either in at least two years.

Their shirts are too boring for me so I don't even bother. Rather go to a thrift store to look for shirts.

I don't waste my time for the shirts but the Pants are cheap and They LAST...

I hate Old Navy. Most annoying store ever. The fuckin' dorks with the headsets on. They act like they are bouncers at a big city dance club or something. The clothes all basically look all the same, in the same three colors. If I was a pyro I'd burn the joint down.

I knew someone who used to work at corporate for The Gap, and you're right - the pants are EXACTLY the same, but with different labels. If you're looking for Jeans/Cords/Khakis, it's a good place to go. I'm not particularly thrilled with the shirts though.

For better bargains, go to the website and see if there's an outlet near you. Prices are even lower there.

I guess I should ask - where are you living at? I guess it's not Toronto, since you haven't seen an Old Navy there...

<-------- Does not buy clothes at retail prices.

Marshall's, TJ Max, Ross Dress For Less, Kmart bargain bin.

If you have good fashion sense - you can save on clothes and still look like you are a bisexual Karl Kani model who is confused about Life.

And lets not forget they have some of the most annoying commercials of all-time. Whats with all the retro-has beens?

Who knows? Morgan Fairchild still looks pretty good, though.

I would bang her. Even though she's like 60.

They don't resemble what the old Navy used to wear at all...

Yeah, I'm near Winnipeg. No store hear. Have heard there are stores in Calgary. Oldnavy.com won't ship to the U.S. so my best bet would probably be to run down to Grand Forks, ND. A three hour trip.

Old Navy's clearance section rocks. I've gotten pairs of jeans there for $5 some times. I only check out the clearance section when i go there...it's amazing. I've gotten a bunch of pants and a couple cool work shirts there.

I admit that Marshall's and Ross are now my primary clothing chains of choice. It can be hard to find decent clothing sometimes, but when you do, you realize it's a great thing when you hit the cash registers.

As for Old Navy, I like finding cheap shorts and pants there. Aside from the really low quality cheap shirt I use for workouts, I hardly ever pick up shirts from their store.

Ok... if you're in the 'Peg then I don't know that the cost of the round trip is actually worth it just to go to Old Navy, y'know?

Old Navy rocks! The clothes are good quality for a good price! Even their online clearance rocks! (for those of you without a store nearby). Plus, they look good and are comfy! Though I could do without the commercials.

My first post here and I would be making a comment about the people that are currently giving me my paychecks...

I work at Old Navy, and even I hate our commercials. Our clothes, however, are awesome (plus, I get a discount).

As for the headsets...we don't think we're bouncers. *grin* If customers had any idea what we really talked about on the headsets, they'd either die of laughter or think we were all crazy. And actually, most of us hate wearing them...after an 8 or 9 hour shift, they really start to hurt the ear.

Pretty much all I wear is Abercrombie or American Eagle. Sure you'll pay a little more but hey, they last.

I do like Old Navy's carpenter jeans though and their shirts do make good workout tee's.

I'm not too big on the jeans, as I like baggy jeans, and the ankles on Old Navy jeans are way too thin. I usually grab GAP Carpenter or Unionbay jeans. Get my khakis and cords at Old Navy though.

Have you tried the bootcut or wideleg jeans? Those tend to be wider at the ankles. And some guys tend to just cut along the seam anyway to make them wider.

Actually I thought about that after I posted it, and yeah I do have pair of bootcut jeans that were perfect. I was mainly describing the carpenter jeans.

No one expects to find fashion advice on a wrestling board, but thanks .

No problem.

Just be glad I'm not asking anyone if they would like to save 10% today by applying for an Old Navy account (that has to be the one part of my job that I absolutely hate).

Everytime I hear the words "Abercrombie" and "American Eagle" I think "Rich Snobby Teenager" cause those fucks in the A&F and AE pics always look like rich little fucks...

Nothing against you though....

i'd like to use this opportunity to say that I'm a total Abercrombie guy. Haha.

I cant say i blame you for thinking that about the models at AE and Abercrombie because i think the same thing. Im not rich nor snobby but i am only 16 so eh. The models for AE really get on my nerves because they are little skinny wimpy shaggy haired gay ass motherfuckers that do look all snobby and shit. Its always kind of weird when I go in an AE because i look out of place, seeing as how im 5'11 and muscular and buying clothing from a little wimpy guy.

BUT Abercrombie has all the hotties and hotties dig Abercrombie :D

I would like to take this chance to say that if you're trying to shoplift, at least be nice and not so damned obvious about it. But when you're trying to shoplift and then rudely seek out a salesperson's help, then cuss out another sales person, then talk shit about the first salesperson, then come back into the store an hour later once again trying to get away with something...that's just fucking dumb.

This rant brought to you by an Old Navy sales associate who's tired of dealing with stupid shop lifters. :)
