Guest Reverb Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 I really think that this gimmick will get ugly. You take two french canadian: Sylvain Grenier from Montreal and René Dupré from New Brunswick and put them as being from France!?!? Vinny must smoke some pretty good chronic to dig this shit. I'd rather see Quebecers v3 than this load of crap. By the way, did you clearly hear the Quebec accent of Grenier when he spoke in french? Way to piss on Quebec's wrestling heritage Vince... I heard Dupree is talented, but the other one blew. I actually saw Grenier in action in an indy fed in Montreal and he looked pretty good in my opinion. Sylvain Grenier came from an indy organization (which one, I can't remember). Apparently, he was a pretty nice guy and had some talent, but the instant he had a WWE contract, the guy apparently turned into a huge prick and started bragging to everybody around him. Sylvain Grenier went by the name of Sly in Northern Championship Wrestling based in Montreal. I heard some rumors that he did have an ego in Montreal. I think he was very proud of his WWE contract.
Guest RepoMan Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 As a person against the war and concerned about the growing Francophobia, I think this is a great idea. As said earlier, it's alot better than bringing back Tiger Ali-Singh. It allows Vince to get this kind of thing out of his systeme, and no one is going to get beat up by some hick for looking French. Plus I get a team to cheer.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 This is going to kick ass cause if nothing else it'll give me a reason to bust out my awful French accent durring Raw.
Guest areacode212 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 There's just something naturally heelish about being French. Some of you might remember how I once mentioned that I sometimes talk to myself in different accents. Well last week, while cooking, I was pretending to cut a heel promo with an evil French-Canadian gimmick (I was inspired by all those anti-French NY Post articles), and it just came out so easily. It's a perfect "elitist snob" gimmick. By the way, did you clearly hear the Quebec accent of Grenier when he spoke in french? Most Americans won't know the difference.
