Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Whoa . . . he's doing Peter Pan? As who??
Conspiracy_Victim Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Just by the by that Geena Davis movie was Cutthroat Island with Matthew Modine and Frank Langella. Yeah after trying to watch that I was convinced that all the careers in question were dead and buried. Poor Renny hasn't really recovered since, although he had a couple decent underrated movies with Long Kiss Goodnight and Deep Blue Sea. After Island and Driven I'm surprised Renny has gotten financing to make a home movie.
Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I'm sure Depp still gets paid. But not a lot of those movies set the world on fire...I mean, have you seen The Astronaut's Wife? It was 10x WORSE than those made-for-cable late night alien movies.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I stayed far away from Astronaut's Wife. Far, far away. Sleepy Hollow was boss, however.
Guest Lethargic Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I stayed away from Astronaut's Wife a long time too. I finally watched it a few months ago and it wasn't all that bad. It wasn't great but it wasn't a bad movie at all. Personally I wish I would've watched this years ago and instead skipped Sleepy Hollow.

Good god, you aren't hinting that Astronaut's Wife is better than Sleepy Hollow.
Guest Lethargic Posted April 10, 2003 Report Posted April 10, 2003 I didn't HINT at anything. I expected AW to be horrible and it wasn't. I expected Sleepy Hollow to be good and it wasn't. It was boring, silly and stupid. So if you factor in expectations, yeah, I liked AW better. It didn't disappoint me the way Hollow did.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Damn, that sucks. What didn't you like about Sleepy Hollow? Personally, I loved it!
Guest Lethargic Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Much like the Suspiria thread...everything. There was nothing in Sleepy Hollow I liked. I guess I kinda liked how it looked, seeing how it looked in the trailer made it look great. It has some spooky ass trees, I'll give it that. But the movie, all I can come up with is silly. Silly from start to finish.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 Too bad, I wish you could get more out of it. Oh well, everybody can't like every movie.
