Batista and Orton

Recommended Posts

Guest Redhawk

I think Batista is supposed to be coming back in another month or so, and I forgot how long Orton will be out. But assuming they're not out too much longer, what should they do with them?

Since I really like Batista and think he could be a star of Brock-like proportions, I would hope that The Rock would be around to put him over as only The Rock can. But since he probably won't be, I'd say keep Batista heel at first and have him take out whoever HHH is feuding with. Then have him assume he's running with HHH again, HHH disses him, and Batista turns face by kicking HHH's ass. Of course HHH would probably never allow this to happen, but it's a thought.

I don't know about Orton. He seems like a natural heel, kind of like Jericho.

As long as they don't just reform Evolution I think these two could be big-time.

Well hopefully Batista is sent back down to OVW, he is way too green, and there are already enough huge, slow moving workers that do nothing but power moves and go "grrrrrrr"

Keep these guys off my TV. They are both years away from becoming anything. They aren't the "new stars" that people are begging for. Batista, a star of Brock-like proportions? No way. Brock actually has talent--Batista has shown absolutely nothing. He's just a typical hoss with a great "look". They'll try to push him, and he'll probably get protected for years without amounting to much. I see him becoming a more successful Test/Albert type. Not an upper-card guy though.

Orton actually has a nice "energy" thing going, and seems like he can cut nice promos, but he botches stuff a lot (won't even go into the injury prone thing--let's just write that off as bad luck). Too Rock-like also. Again, they'll try their darndest with him, but meet with limited success.

Brock Lesnar also had the benefit of getting to repeatidly(sp?) go over RVD, back when RVD was hot item in WWE, and then move on to battle against the #1 heel in the company, Kurt Angle. So I'd say that had more to do with Lesnar getting over than himself. Lesnar has little character to him, but if you can believe it, Batista has even less, and is not even half the worker Lesnar is, and that aint saying much.

Batista hasn't even been really given a shot to show his skills. All his matches were 2-minute squashes -- just like Brock's matches at first -- and his first PPV opponent was Kane. Now I haven't seen any OVW tapes of either Brock or Batista, but how could Batista be that much worse?

I like Batista, but I don't see much talent in the man.

Orton has talent though, he's still green though.

Brock only went over RVD once at KOTR. Their other two matches he lost by DQ.

I say they give Evolution another go- I was actually kinda digging it before they got hurt

bob barron already pointed out the RVD thing; and Angle wasn't until much later on. As for getting over, clearly Lesnar didn't get over on his own--he wasn't over at all until he squashed Hogan. Batista, however, wouldn't have the staying power of Brock even if he did get the same push. It was always clear that Brock had talent, even if they never let him use any of it at the start; Batista, on the other hand, is just "blah". I actually think that Batista has more character than Brock, because Brock is pretty vanilla, but that isn't enough to make up for Batista's other deficiencies.

I'm willing to bet that Batista and Orton join with HHH once again. Didn't Orton help out HHH or something since he's been hurt?

It doesn't stop people from bashing Goldberg.

Any other of GB's matches either sucked or were layed out for him by DDP.

And even in two minutes Batista should be able to work more into his match than "punch, clothesline, clothesline, punch, clothesline, powerslam." Yet, he hasn't.

I think they should bring back Batista and Orton as a tag team that thinks their an evil French tag team. It would rule you know it.

Anyone find it kind of ironic that a big knock by people on RVD is his lack of mic skills, yet Brock who doesn't have a clue on the mic is the smackdown champ? RVD is better than Brock on the mic, btw.
