The high point of the show was for the 10:00 quarter hour, where the Rock wrestled Jeff Hardy and then had his face off with Bill Goldberg. Hell, I'm sure they believe he would be a great manager and could get some guys over, seeing how over HE is. I mean, did you hear the pop and chant for him last night? Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 8, 2003 You can't judge if someone is a draw or not after one show. Give it time, wait untill at least after the upcoming PPV. Like I've said before, if Austin and Rocky couldn't provide a ratings boost, then Goldberg will not do so either. The ratings will never improve untill the writing gets better, period. If anyone, I would expect you of all people to remember that. Actually, it is. What Kahran said was exactly correct--Austin's return boosted ratings for a few weeks, in a major way. It wasn't the end of MNF or the road to Mania either, because the boost was way beyond what those typically do. It was clearly Austin, and perhaps the Rock as well. Goldberg OTOH did squat for the ratings. As I've posted many times, ratings are correlated almost perfectly with buyrates and attendance. Thus, it appears unlikely that Goldberg is a signficant draw at this point. Yes, I'm surprised as well; I truly thought he was the only invididual draw left.
