Guest Renegade Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 If anyone remembers, a while back I held a tournament featuring fighting game characters. And now the tournament returns, but in order for it do so I need your suggestions and opinions. Firstly, recommend me any character that you would see fit to enter the tournament. Don’t bother recommending any of the obvious characters since they will almost positively be in the tournament. You will need to mention the game of the characters origin since there are some fighting games that I do not play very often and never intend to (e.g. Dead or Alive). Secondly, should the champion of the last tournament, Ryu be allowed to enter this tourney? I’m concerned that Ryu will win by a landslide and I would appreciate your opinion on this. Voting and somesuch ends lets say, around a week? Then the tournament begins. The tournament will last longer than the last due to the increase in participants
Guest Pegasus Kid Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 OK first off, how many slots are available? If you're not going to take the super obvious I'd like to put in a vote for: - Kim Kap Hwan (KOF 2002) - Cammy - Rugal (KOF 2001 version) - OG Sagat (Super Turbo) - Chipp (GGXX) - Faust (GGXX)
Guest Lightning Flik Posted April 8, 2003 Report Posted April 8, 2003 Include Ryu as you just have ta. If he wins by a landslide this year then can him from particpating next year. Now here we go with my list of who I want in: Link - Soul Calibur 2 Game Cube Version (or Super Smash Bros Melee). Most notiably known for the Legend of Zelda series. Mega Man- Capcom vs ??? (not sure if it was SNK or Marvel correct me if I'm wrong people). Notiably known for the Mega Man series, and X series. Roy - Super Smash Bros Melee. Known for the Fire Emblem series.(SSBM is a fighting game, whereas Fire Emblem was strat) Can we add these guys to the listing?
Guest Reverb Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 The obvious: - Ryu - Ken - Terry Bogard - Iori - Scorpion - Subzero How about: - Rugal - Rock Howard - Blue Mary - Ukyo - K' - Sakura - Kyoshiro - Zero (KOF2001) - Ryuji - Robert Garcia - Kano - Genjuro - Geese
Guest KoR Fungus Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Don't leave the Mishimas out this time! Especially Kazuya, he's totally badass. I'd also say Mitsurugi, Cervantes and Testament should be in there somewhere. Let Ryu defend his title. He only beat Akuma by a couple votes this time, so it's not so clear he'd win again.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I'm clueless on fighting game characters, but I would suggest that you hold your tournament without your defending champion. Then have the winner of the new tourney face the winner of the last one in a special showdown.
Guest Sakura Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 The man, the myth, the legend, the one who held the Earth Warriors together in their battle against Shao Kahn's tyrany... Kurtis f'n Stryker! This icon of gaming is from Mortal Kombat 3. Also.... Jedah(Vampire Savior) Karin Kanzuki(Street Fighter Alpha 3)
Guest Cavi Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Having Ryu as the "boss fight" of the tourney, like Tino Standard mentioned, would be cool. As for characters: Larcen (Eternal Champions) Kabal (Mortal Kombat 3) B.B. Hood (Vampire Savior) Billy Kane (Fatal Fury 2) Brocken and Mudman from the World Heroes universe also deserve to be in!
Guest Sakura Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Billy Kane made his debut in the first Fatal Fury. He was not in the Genesis port though.
Guest HHH123007 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I don't know who was in it last time, but I'll throw some out there.... Ivy (From Soul Caliber) Kenshi (From Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance) Paul Phoenix (From Tekken) Kitana (From Mortal Kombat)
Guest Goodear Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Barraka from Mortal Kombat II Someone, anyone from Clay Fighter Karate Champ... from Karate Champ OLD SCHOOOOOOOL
