Guest BifEverchad Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 In an ironic twist, The Superstation TBS announced today that Thursday at 8:00 pm ET, which is the original WCW Thunder timeslot, TBS will be bringing back World Championship Wrestling. "Ready to Rumble" will be making it's network television debut this Thursday. The movie, which was made with the involvement of World Championship Wrestling, is what eventually led to actor David Arquette becoming the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. I found it rather funny that they programmed the movie to be shown in the Thunder time slot. Even more, it is, in a way, the last time we may see a Thursday Night War between WWE vs. WCW, as TBS will go up against UPN's Smackdown. - 1wrestling.com
Guest HHH123007 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Meh....I have it on DVD, and I don't really care about Smackdown... Looks like nobody wins my ratings....
Guest EternallyLazy Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 wouldn't it be great if more people watched Ready to Rumble than Smackdown??
Guest LatinoHeat Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 TBS will be bringing back World Championship Wrestling. This caused me to drop my jaw and subsequently run/fall/trip over the stairs in a frantic rush to tell my brother. "Ready to Rumble" will be making it's network television debut this Thursday. This caused me to swear more in 1 minute than I had done in 2 years.
Bored Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 We have a winner for most pointless story ever.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Meh....I have it on DVD, and I don't really care about Smackdown... Looks like nobody wins my ratings.... You have that piece of trash on DVD? My God man! What the hell is wrong with you?!?

You have that piece of trash on DVD? My God man! What the hell is wrong with you?!? Someone must have paid him to take it or... he's a masochist.
Guest HHH123007 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 The DVD commentary is really funny....too bad they can't play that during the showings on TBS....
Guest EternallyLazy Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 "I hear the Iraqis use RTR as a torchure device on American POW's" A friend of mine. It may be in poor taste... but so was the movie
Guest Star Ocean 3 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 What's wrong with you people? Ready to Rumble is classic cinema. It's a good bad movie.
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Could we have the name of this thread changed? It's very misleading.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I'll be watching R2R. I'm a mark for crap like that.
Guest Eagan469 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 *reads thread title* *reads content of thread* BAIT AND SWITCH!
Guest HHH123007 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 How is the thread title misleading? A WCW movie is going to be on TBS.....it's not lying to you or anything...
Guest Star Ocean 3 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I actually got my hopes up TBS would show Thunder reruns or something.
Guest BifEverchad Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 How is the thread title misleading? A WCW movie is going to be on TBS.....it's not lying to you or anything... Exactly.
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 It is misleading. It's not WCW.......it's Ready to Rumble. The thread title makes it sound like they're showing WCW reruns.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 It is misleading. It's not WCW.......it's Ready to Rumble. The thread title makes it sound like they're showing WCW reruns. It stars WCW stars... the initials WCW... and it's about WCW wrestling Who the fuck cares anyway if it's misleading or not?
Guest Downhome Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I love the movie, it's not a work of art, but it's one of those movies that I can watch just about any time just for the hell of it, if you know what I mean. I thought it was a pretty cool representation of Pro. Wrestling also, better than most.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 ::wishes for WCW on TV:: At least I have my best of Chris Jericho in WCW/ECW/Japan...

cawthon777 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I think Ready to Rumble is hilarious. Hilarious in that it was supposed to be a big box office smash that would make WCW so popular that people would ask "WWF? What's that?"
Guest EternallyLazy Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I think Ready to Rumble is hilarious. *checks box office figures* Seems like you're in the minority thank God
Guest HHH123007 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 What would the wrestling world be like now if Ready To Rumble grossed over 100 million? :shudders:
