Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Ugh...I just watched the worst movie ever made...Salo. It has completely dehumanized me. It was hands down the most vile, disgusting, and disturbing film I have ever seen. A few people told us to watch it, and I regret it over and over again. If someone tells you to watch it, don't, and if you have already seen it, then you are, like myself, one of the unfortunate ones. Anyone here had the misfortune? http://www.horrordvds.com/reviews/n-z/salo/

Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 If you have a VCD, you can probably stick it in your CD-ROM drive, and drag & drop one of the large .dat files into an open Windows Media Player window, and it'll play.

Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Thanks for the vcd help guys, I'll be watching the film shortly.
Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted April 9, 2003 *reads review* Nope, not touching that one. Good Choice. I don't reccomend it. There are visual scenes where the teens are raped, they have to eat shit, one gets his eye gouged out, and one gets his tounge cut off.

Good idea, I wish I had known what the fuck the movie contained before a group of people convinced my friends and I to watch it with them.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll llllllrighty then. So uh, yeah... ...I believe that I'll be leaving the "orgy room" and "shit banquet" right where it is. This isn't a film, it's, well, not a film.
Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Apparantly the movie was so bad that one of the actors murdered the director after the movie was released.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Apparantly the movie was so bad that one of the actors murdered the director after the movie was released. wtf? Why did you possibly sit through this and finish it?

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 9, 2003 It has completely dehumanized me. It was hands down the most vile, disgusting, and disturbing film I have ever seen. You say that as if it's bad thing... :coughpussycough: So is this based on something written by the Marquis De Sade?
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 The film was made by Pier Palo Passolini, a controversial, political, gay Italian filmmaker from the 60's 70's. And yes he was murdered under dubious circumstances. His films were often criticized for how far they pushed things. I'm soooo glad my film professor decided not to show this in our film history class. I have no interest (or stomach) to watch this.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I've been reading some reviews of this in the past half hour, and I'm finding it somewhat intriguing, but I don't think I could bring myself to actually sit through it. And apparently the person who killed Pasolini was a young man who the director tried to "pick up". He claims it was self defense, but many people think he was paid by Pasolini's anti-Communist enemies. His head was bashed in, and was run over by a car several times. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 What exactly is the point of this movie?
Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted April 9, 2003 LOL. The director said that it was loosely based on Marque de Sade's 120 days of Sodomy, but in reality he just said that to make a sick ass movie. He was always pushing the boundaries apparantly, and this was the peak of his career, and also the end of it. A lot of film buffs cherish this movie and call it a master piece actually, but they are just pretentious bastards./
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 9, 2003 Go to the review link...it explains it. Now I'm interested in this...I hope kazaa has it because I don't know how else I'll be able to see it. Well unless my library has a copy...yeah probably not.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2003 I read the review and I still don't know the point of it. It sounds like a sick porno movie to me.

It's a movie based on the writing of the Marquis De Sade, so of course it's going to be "sick". It's not like he took something clean and wholesome and interepted it as something preverse. You can't make a Disney movie out of something written by the Marquis De Sade.
Guest EMAXSAUN Report post Posted April 9, 2003 The review link trys to explain it, but i think that Pasolini just knew that if he said it was based off of Marque de Sade, film buffs would still look into it as a piece of artwork, he worked them. I think it may be on kazaa, but im not sure, but the dvds are crazy expensive to get, because they arent in print anymore, at least the us version isnt. The vhs is still available though.
