Guest GatesFTW Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Any opinions on the Knoller's second degree murder, and voluntary manslaughter convictions on Mrs and Mr Knoller respectively? I think these heartless pieces of shit should be thrown into a 8 X 8 concrete pit with rabid pitt bulls myself. These cunts showed no remorse or regard for the woman who was mauled to death, and the only concern they showed was for who was going to clean up the bloody mess left by their #### hound. I am a dog lover, I have two of my own, but anybody that trains their animal to be an aggressor needs to be kicked in the genitals.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I'm glad it's over so I can quit hearing about it. This story has gotten a ton of coverage here because the woman who was killed was a former Penn State lacrosse star. But I do agree that these people should be severely punished. Dogs do not naturally attack people. Unless they get rabies or something...
Guest Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I feel sorry for the poor woman but also these dogs too. They had to be killed because there owners are jackasses who made them killers.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted March 23, 2002 Two points: 1) I really didn't pay close attention to the case, but didn't one of the neighbors who heard the mauling say at the trial that she thought the dying chick was just getting raped or mugged? 2) Wasn't the victim gay? And if she was, were the dogs charged with hate crimes?
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted March 23, 2002 <<2) Wasn't the victim gay? And if she was, were the dogs charged with hate crimes?>> LOL, that's in horrible taste, but really funny. Anyway, I've been paying pretty close attention to this (hard not to when the Collegian runs a story on it every day), and I'm overall pretty pleased with the outcome. People who train dogs to be vicious deserve to be punished when it backfires and the dogs kill someone. I'm not sure that I agree with the second degree murder conviction, though. I was under the impression that murder had to be completely intentional, and I don't think you can really say that Knoller actually wanted the dogs to kill Whipple. I'd have convicted them both of second degree manslaughter and the vicious dog charge, but not have convicted Knoller of murder.

Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I didn't bother reading much about this until after the sentencing, so I'll give my views on the situation. 1. The owners were idiots to begin with for having 150-pound attack dogs in a metropolitan apartment to begin with. 2. They KNEW that the dogs had an attitude problem and didn't particularly like the victim, yet they didn't bother to go out of their way and prevent a situation. In fact, the victim had lodged a complaint with management and was generally disliked by the couple even before the attack. 3. This isn't like the dogs escaped the apartment and jumped the dead woman. THEY WERE BEING WALKED DOWN THE HALL by the woman convicted of 2nd degree murder and she couldn't control them. 4. The owners of the dogs were unconcerned with the victim, as they were pissing and moaning more over their dogs being destroyed. 5. They hired an idiot for an attorney, as she had never worked a murder case and went out of her way to pull the lesbian hate-card during the closing arguments. 6. There IS a legitimate concern that this COULD have been a hate-crime by the couple, as the victim was a lesbian and the owners of the dogs had connections to white-supremicist organizations. In fact, they actually obtained the dogs through a white-supremicist gang member who is currently in prison that the couple had sponsored through an adopt-a-prisoner program. In short, the owners of the dogs were idiots who KNEW their dogs were dangerous but didn't care. I don't feel any sorrow at them being convicted of 2nd degree murder or manslaughter as they were so self-centered that they had no concern for the victim. She looked pathetic on CNN.
Guest big Dante Cruz Report post Posted March 28, 2002 I honestly can't help but wonder something. Why on earth would some idiot walk two attack dogs in the city, any city? Not to sound too cynical, but there are people that will sue about anything, so it's not too far off to guess that taking them out would have caused trouble regardless. The other thing that crosses my mind is, what if the victim had been a child? That would have definitely made the whole scenario a lot worse.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted March 30, 2002 "what if the victim had been a child?" Then Big Media would have made it into some story of how the GOP was responsible for the mauling. I'm just glad the dog wasn't owned by Republicans (2 SF lawyers? I doubt it) because Daschle would be running politicals ads about GWB and friends wanting to kill children...
