Guest AndrewTS Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 How original: ---------------- Latest on when those two will return... The plan right now is for Steve Austin and Jim Ross to return to WWE TV as a "package deal" of sorts. As reported in the past, WWE plans to have Austin return as some sort of "rogue GM" to Eric Bischoff. Details on how this will work aren't clear yet, but he will have some type of position of power and bring back Jim Ross as the lead announcer. Again, Steve Austin will not be wrestling again anytime soon, mainly due to the status of his neck. A chance does exist that he may never wrestle again. Credit: 1wrestling.com ---------------------------- They already did that with Austin briefly. When the fuck will they get it through their skull that more "authority figure" drama bullshit will not draw much attention? Austin-McMahon is OVER! Let it rest in peace! It hasn't worked the other 20 times you revived it!!
Guest Vern Gagne Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Who's the Einstein who came up with this originial idea.
Guest Choken One Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 It was cool at first...AUSTIN controlling McMahon for once but it was dumb on so many levels...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 They should just rename WWE "Evil Owners Wrestling" and have every single wrestler get screwed by an evil authority position that rotates monthly.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 They should reform the nWo.
Guest Choken One Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Screw that Noise...Bring Back The Nasty Boys.
Guest AndrewTS Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Who's the Einstein who came up with this originial idea. I think Vince "I'm a genius--just ask my employees!" McMahon did.
Guest natholy Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 They should reform the nWo. Oh no if that happened it would be the end for sure. regards nate holynski
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 oh well. at least this wont go on for much longer. just until the mack is in the main event. then raw will kick so much ass that rikishi will need to be brought to raw
Guest AndrewTS Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 They should reform the nWo. Oh no if that happened it would be the end for sure. regards nate holynski Reforming the nWo would not shock me one bit. In fact, I'm expecting it any day now, but HHH would be leader, and Ric Flair would be attached to his ass and sucking up to him like nobody's business.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 oh well. at least this wont go on for much longer. just until the mack is in the main event. then raw will kick so much ass that rikishi will need to be brought to raw You know something. That quote alone has converted me. I now back the mack.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Screw that Noise...Bring Back The Nasty Boys. Did they really used to say anything like that? If not, they should've. You're a good rhyming catchphrase man. oh well. at least this wont go on for much longer. just until the mack is in the main event. then raw will kick so much ass that rikishi will need to be brought to raw That was so perfectly worded. Funny, funny stuff.

Guest Will Scarlet Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I now back the mack. It may very well be too late to Back the Mack. I was over at WWE.com today and I noticed that the Mack's profile is no longer there. I hope this does not mean they released the Mack.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 That'd be pretty strange considering Jazz just joined up with the Mack Family.
Guest nikowwf Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 What would all you nay-sayers do with Austin? He can't wrestle...he's kind of limited in what he can do. niko
Guest AndrewTS Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 What would all you nay-sayers do with Austin? He can't wrestle...he's kind of limited in what he can do. niko Keep him off TV until he is healthy enough to have a final run?

He can't wrestle...he's kind of limited in what he can do. niko Keep him off TV until he is healthy enough to have a final run? In theory, that's a good idea, but the man just took a year off due to his beef with "creative" ... and he's still not healthy. I don't believe Austin will ever be at 100% ever again. Keep him on TV in some sort of non-wrestling role (although I do agree that this proposed plan is not what I had in mind). His summer with Angle was proof positive that you don't have to be healthy to make a contribution to the business.

More of this "authority figure" BS isn't going to solve anything. It's the ONLY ANGLE THAT AUSTIN EVER IS IN!! It's just like how every fucking Val Venis angle was him swiping x wrestler's wife/girlfriend/female relative.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Part of the problem with Austin is, I would think, that his finisher is one big impact on the spine. The Stunner may be the thing that keeps him from getting back into a peak condition.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 ..and of course, the Oklahoma Asshole HAS to be back on TV.. ugh.

JR needs to take more time off...er...promote his BBQ, scout for more hosses or whatever the hell he does with his spare time.

It's just like how every fucking Val Venis angle was him swiping x wrestler's wife/girlfriend/female relative. I hear that. I realize I'm stating the obvious here, but this is why there needs to be a complete overhaul of the writing team. The WWE can blame the low ratings on the brand extension all they want, but I truly believe the blame lies squarely on the writers. To the WWE's credit, they have been experimenting in the creative department (letting Tommy Dreamer sit in on the meetings, demoting Heyman), but clearly this hasn't done much. They need to think more outside the box, in my opinion.
Guest AndrewTS Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Dreamer lost that position, and Paul has lost a lot of control. Paul was an overrated booker anyway. However, the fact remains, yes, the writers suck ass. It's made up of Daddy's little girl, hacks that couldn't cut it in Hollywood (Brian Gerwitz wrote for Big Wolf on Campus), with input from guys like Taker, HHH, and I'm sure now Nash and the rest of the Clique. So don't expect things to turn around soon. Fuck, why not have Austin throw his 2 cents in if he isn't going to be wrestling? It could only improve things.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I'd mark out for the Stun Gun~!. And Austin booking might not be a bad idea at all. To a degree.
Guest The Hamburglar Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Fuck, why not have Austin throw his 2 cents in if he isn't going to be wrestling? It could only improve things. Interesting, considering its pretty blatant that Austin seems to have absolutely no problems with these authority figure storylines. In fact, they're tailor made for his character. They provide him with opposition that he will always go over.
Guest iamsherm Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 As long as he's not wrestling, I would support Austin having some creative control. Active wrestlers on the creative team, however, has always been, and forever will be, bad news.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Fuck JR. My tv and my eyes need a break from watching/hearing him every week. He needs a long vacation. And that Commissioner Austin crap will be nice since it'll take some mic time off Nash, Goldberg and Trips.
Guest razazteca Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 JR should manage a tag team of Dr Death & SCSA and bring back his own announcer desk!
Guest Mad Dog Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 Why not do something where Bisch can't quite fire Austin but still won't let him in the ring. So he tries to give him other jobs, ex: working the concession stand, etc., and Austin does his usual asshole stuff. Or why not make him an announcer?
