How quick was it done...

Once Flair and Herd had their falling out how quick did it take Vince et all to put together the deal to bring Flair in. I mean Flair left WCW at the end of June and by early August Heenan was bringing the NWA title out proclaiming Flair the real world's champion. Does anyone know who contacted who? Flair was the first outsider to be brought in with his past intact. Everyone else was treated like an unknown coming into the WWF.

Flair wanted to go to the WWF since 1988 but only in early 1991(after the Black Socprion incident) did he really consider it as an option. He knew HErd wanted him out and negotiated with Bobby & Vince form I'm guessing May atleast since he was working house shows pretty soon after jumping.

I just remember a quote from an Arn Anderson shoot, when he mentioned how Flair wanted to come over with Arn/Tully/Barry in 88-89 "Can you imagine, a Four Horseman group, managed by Bobby Heenan?"

Four Horsemen managed by Bobby Heenan? That would have been awesome!

Why did Flair want to leave for the WWF in 89 (besides money)? I always thought the 80's were the best time for Flair and the NWA (JCP in particular), I can completely understand him wanting too jump ship once Turner came into the picture.

Dusty Rhodes being a fat retard would piss Flair off on a daily basis when he was around. Money. Jim Herd. Good offer from Vince.

If I was booked to job the world title to Rick Steiner in a squash match in the main event of the biggest even of the year - I'd want to jump too.

Just calling it a squash match is going soft on it.... I remember reading it was gonna be a 30 second long squash.

I'd heard five minutes, but way too short to main event Starrcade at any rate.

Why the fuck would Dusty think that was a good idea after building Flair-Luger for six months?

I also heard it was supposed to be a 5 minute squash. Well this is coming from the same bookr that once screamed "MAKE IT GOOD!" during a beatdown.
