Guest Maurizio C... Version 2 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Today I bought SD3 for PS2 (I bought the console today, too) and have to tell you: this game is the shits! It's quite similar to SD2, same controls and all, only with a few exceptions... - The graphics are smoother and rule! - Tons of new moves, even ones you can't really think of. - Of course different wrestlers (rhyno, tajiri, raven) - original music from Limp Bizkit and Motorhead - you can actually run into the crowd and scare the fans like in japan - a new story mode Of course, the game has its faults... - it's almost impossible to pull off speacial moves since you must beat up your opponent and have a second to click the button before he comes back beating you. - you just can't break the fucking tables!? - the story mode consists of the same fucking story over and over again - there's no create-a-ppv mode I expected something great, got something big, but there's still work to be done. Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I'm sorry. I'm a THQ/AKI elitist so I really did not like the SD series at all.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I've played it, you can only break tables with certain moves I think. Piledrivers, powerbombs, flying moves.. I think. Some great moves and spots. Love that CIMA/SUWA german, inverted stun gun then sit out inverted powerbomb with diamond cutter combo.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I'm sorry. I'm a THQ/AKI elitist so I really did not like the SD series at all. I gotta agree. AKI just owns at making wrestling games. I have SD!2 and it's good, but I just have more fun playing AKI games. But, now with Yukes (and 2 AKI members) working on WMX8... there MIGHT be hope. Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 Smackdown 3 is a rental game because of the way that the story mode was screwed up. The most you'll ever wrestle in a single storyline is about 4-5 matches, and that's if you go for the WWF title then do some things slightly differently than normal (rushing the ring at the beginning of the game, losing the Last Man Standing match at Wrestlemania to compete in a #### In The Cell match instead with Foley as the ref, etc.). In addition to that, this game is a BITCH to save because the fuckin' savefile is 4 megs. I've played through MGS2 about 10 times and all my saves TOGETHER haven't equalled this amount of space. Guest Dace59 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 As I've said on toher message boards... it's a really said state of afairs when people wont say a simple fictional noun like ####.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I agree with the sentiments of Flyboy and evil sorcerer Damaramu I just cant get into these smackdown games. Ive played them all and they look great but the grapple system and playability factor juts pale to Revenge/WM2k/No Mercy
