And I'm paying for being up for work at 4:30 a.m. and hanging around Aggies' till almost midnight last night...urgh.

Results are thusly(cut-and-pasted from the gatewaywrestling.com message board because I'M LAZY):

The show started with Sean Vincent complaining about a "Win A Date With Daizee Haze" contest, saying that there should be a "Win A Date With Sean Vincent" contest for the women in the audience. However, only one woman, a rather enthusiastic female named Cheryl, seemed willing to take him up on the offer, and from the looks of things she was a bit more woman than Vincent could handle as he headed for the hills with Cheryl in pursuit.

In the opening trainee match, Trainee #3(aka Jim Aggie) picked up the win over Trainee #10(aka Melvin Root) after a fisherman buster into a forward slam.

Next up, it was Jynx taking on Jackal, who was accompanied by all of Diabolic Khaos(MsChif, Delirious, and Cabal). The numbers game was too much for Jynx and Jackal took advantage by hitting the Killswitch to score the three-count.

Since Cabal was already out there, the next match was announced as the huge masked man squared off against Nemesis, who was accompanied by Sindy. There was a lot of bad blood between Diabolic Khaos and the Yamamoto Corporation after MsChif's Light Heavyweight Title win over Makaze last month, and it spilled over into this match as Nemesis suffered a four-on-one beatdown, resulting in a disqualification. Big Bad Ben hit the ring to make the save but the odds were against him as well and Delirious hit Triple B with two Panic Attacks! Finally, Makaze entered the fray and Diabolic Khaos retreated...but Sindy challenged MsChif to give Makaze his rematch for the Light Heavyweight Title later that night!

Commissioner Keith Smith took over the ring announcing duties as "Team Perfection"(Chris Hargis and David Cochran...correct me if I'm wrong on these names) made its debut against Double Negative. Both sides showed great teamwork, but in the end, it was Shawn Almighty and Ian Storm coming out on top when Almighty pinned Hargis after he and Storm hit a splash and legdrop off opposite turnbuckles to finish him off!

At this point, Big Bad Ben stormed into the ring, demanding a match with Delirious to get revenge for the earlier attack!

OuTtKaSt picked up the pinfall victory over Daizee Haze in a closely-fought contest after dropping her to the mat with the Case Study.

Billy McNeil and Super Electro both took to the air to the delight of the fans in attendance, with McNeil landing a corkscrew senton-ish move off the top rope to finally put away the electrifying one. During this match, Vincent and Cheryl's chase traveled back through the main arena, but Doogie...er, Sean...managed to keep eluding her.

Kevin Sharp pinned D'Mon G thanks to an assist from his brother Steve, who delivered a chokeslam to give Kevin the win. Post-match, the Sharps brought a table into the ring and, with Steve setting D'Mon up on the table, Kevin splashed D'Mon from the top rope! The table didn't break, but Steve altered that small matter by crashing D'Mon through the table himself! Coach Chuck Farley, undaunted by the defeat, wanted the Sharps(who named themselves the "S-T-L Clique") to face D'Mon and Sean Vincent in a tag team match next month at Aggies'!

Chaz Wesson brutalized Sean Vincent(who seemed already the worse for wear after having seemingly been ravaged by Cheryl out of sight of the audience)...Vincent incredibly survived Wesson's Pedigree and mounted an offensive, but fell to Wesson's military press-Diamond Cutter. During the match, oddly, Heart Attack Jack made an appearance at ringside and seemed to want to talk over something with Cheryl...who knows what the relationship is there?

Big Bad Ben faced off with Delirious, and while Ben dominated with his power, Delirious used his aerial assault to keep Triple B off-balance. However, Diabolic Khaos was once again too much for the opposition. Ben ordered security to get a piece of guardrail into the ring for him, but it backfired as Cabal chokeslammed Ben onto the guardrail as it was propped up against the turnbuckles! Delirious then scaled the turnbuckles and hit Shadows Over Hell with Ben laid out on the guardrail to score the upset victory!

MsChif retained the GCW Light Heavyweight Title against Makaze. With Nemesis out of commission from the earlier beatdown, Sindy could do little but watch as the Wind Of Destruction was victimized by the opposition. MsChif used an inverted swinging neckbreaker to put the masked man away.

Finally, it was time for the main event, as two of the most hardcore competitors in Midwest wrestling went toe-to-toe...Madman Pondo and Diamond Back Dingo! These two started out technical, but once the stop sign came into play, all hell broke loose from there and both men were a bloody mess by the time it was all said and done. A shopping cart full of weapons was brought out and Pondo put the shopping cart to good use, throwing it at Dingo's face while Dingo was hung upside-down in the corner...with a stop sign propped up in front of Dingo's face! Nothing could keep Dingo down, not even a piledriver off the second rope onto the shopping cart! Dingo took advantage when Pondo missed a somersault off the turnbuckles and crash-landed on the cart...and he called for security to bring in a barbed-wire board! Both men jockeyed for position in their attempts to drop the other onto the board, but it was Dingo that scored with a top-rope Frankensteiner that dropped Pondo onto the board! That allowed Dingo to cover Pondo for the three-count and score a huge victory!

Despite the insults traded prior to the match, Dingo and Pondo shook hands as a show of respect...but it was Dingo that stood tall at the end of the night, having sent a message to Nikki Strychnine: He wants his belt back!

BUMP to include a few posts from the GCW message board.

On the subject of the lack of shows during the summer months, Evil Jim posted this:

"Many of the people involved with GCW have taken time off for vacations and such.

Instead of giving a sub par show we decided to wait until everyone gets back.

Besides it's going to be HELLA HOT."

On the subject of the next show, David Rogers posted this:

"There was a show for this weekend but some things came up that made it clear that it would make for a better show to move it back to July 12th.

The July 12th show will be a family show at family prices $5 kids. $8 pre-sale adults, and $10 day of show for adults. This show will have a lot of surprises that are still in the works and the return of a least 3 former GCW stars. When every thing is locked in stone the complete card will announced."

All of that plus the Nikki Strychnine vs. Diamond Back Dingo rematch for the GCW Title and also Kevin & Steve Sharp vs. D'Mon G & Sean Vincent...

Delirious made it three straight XPlosion tapings last night, teaming with C.B. Kane and Todd Sexton in a loss to Ron Killings, B.G. James, and Konnan.

Also Daizee Haze worked the taping, teaming with Altar Boy Luke in a loss to the Gathering(Julio Dinero & Alexis Laree).

You have any of these appearances on tape yet? We don't get Xplosion down this way. Or if we do,I haven't been able to find it.

How do the crowds react to the GCWers?

Wish I knew...I got the XPlosion taping results from Phil McWhatshisname who sends them to 1wrestling.com and other sites.

I would imagine the TNA faithful are becoming familiar with the GCWers who appear more frequently like Delirious and Matt...so I'd imagine they get some kind of reaction from the fans that have seen them before.

Hope to see some other GCWers like Dingo or OuTtKaSt get a shot too.

How toned down will a match like Dingo vs Strychnine be at a family show? Or will it matter?

It seems like the biggest difference between the adult shows and the family shows is less swearing ;)

......looking for the elusive shot of Sindy......July 12th ...oh yes.....it will be mine.....

Agreed, the main difference between the AF'NO shows and the standard shows is the language and Heart Attack Jack's presence...heck, the exploding barbed wire match(one of GCW's most violent gimmick matches) has appeared on standard shows more often than not.

Either way, I doubt it'll be THAT "toned down"...but I think MsChif will have an interest in the outcome of that title match. I'll leave it at that.

A FAN'S PERSPECTIVE #27

Sometimes in a wrestler's career, a significant event occurs that motivates him or her to take their game up that extra level.

At GCW's third anniversary show, Diamond Back Dingo became the GCW Heavyweight Champion, defeating Delirious in a great best-of-three-falls matchup. Very few people would deny that Melbourne, Australia's contribution of Gateway Championship Wrestling was a worthy titleholder, and he defended the belt against all comers, retaining the gold against Ryan Ash, Chaz Wesson, and Kevin Sharp.

However, despite being the titleholder, there was that one nagging question in the back of everyone's mind: "Would Dingo have been able to beat Nikki Strychnine for that belt?"

The circumstances surrounding Dingo's title opportunity were shrouded in controversy. Jack Adonis beat Strychnine for the belt, but forfeited the title to attend to other matters in his life, leaving the championship up for grabs...and presenting a golden opportunity for Dingo and Delirious. Dingo capitalized on that opportunity and he was the one that came out on top on that night.

However, it would seem there's more prestige in winning a championship if you win it from the previous titleholder. How would Dingo have fared against Adonis or Strychnine, one wonders?

In May at "Gateway Challenge", Dingo didn't expect a difficult night. He expected to go up against the heartbroken, withdrawn "Nikodemus Ravendark".

Then the lights went out...and when they came back on, Dingo's worst nightmare was standing behind him. It wasn't Nikodemus Ravendark...it was Nikki Strychnine, pissed off and ready to reclaim what he felt was rightfully his. Facing Strychnine on a normal evening is tough enough, but Dingo was caught completely off-guard and unprepared.

The D-B-D managed to survive Strychnine's onslaught for a time, but eventually the punishment caught up to him. Strychnine was champion once again...and Dingo was left wondering what went wrong.

A lesser man might have retreated into his shell and lapsed into a low point in his career. Not Dingo.

The very next night in Cape Girardeau, just twenty-four hours after the grueling title match with Strychnine, Dingo was faced with an Irish Table Dance against "The Irish Luchador" Billy McNeil. McNeil was all but untouchable in his signature match, and in fact had beaten Dingo on two previous occasions in this environment.

It would have been easy for Dingo to half-ass it and try to conserve his energy for future battles...but that's not Dingo's style. He went toe-to-toe with McNeil and he came out on top, getting that particular monkey(or cybernetic ape) off his back.

Last month, Dingo was faced with another challenge in the form of Madman Pondo. Dingo has become known for being "hardcore" in his GCW career, but Pondo's reputation in that department was built over many years of brutal competition. In this battle, Dingo was faced with someone who could not only meet, but even exceed his capacity for violence.

Once again, though, Dingo stepped up his game. The same Dingo that scored a huge upset over former ECW Tag Team Champion Balls Mahoney last October took it to another level against Pondo, and he accomplished what only The Sandman had previously done in GCW competition: He pinned Pondo's shoulders to the mat for a three-count. Post-match, Pondo shook Dingo's hand, the ultimate sign of respect after a hard-fought battle.

A week from Friday, Strychnine defends the GCW Heavyweight Title against Dingo in a rematch from last May. The only difference is that this time, Dingo's ready for him...and he's got something to prove.

Was that championship win in March merely a matter of being in the right place at the right time with both Adonis and Strychnine out of contention?

Will it be deja vu all over again with Strychnine standing tall at the end of the night?

Or was the previous loss to Strychnine the wake-up call that Dingo needed to step up his game and take the fight to the Ayatollah Of Ebola on his own terms?

Will it be the end of Dingo's championship aspirations?

Or will it be only the beginning?

There's only one way to find out, folks. Be there on the 12th and see for yourself.

More at some indeterminate point in the future if I can think of anything.

LAW is becoming GCW South......Delirious and Daizee have been regulars,Dingo has been on a couple shows and in Poplar Bluff on June 28th,Delirious attacked Derrick King and turned heel and was joined by.....MsChif!!!

I'm kinda pissed because I had planned to go to that show ,had the day off and everything......then they changed the work schedule and I didn't fight to keep that Saturday off.

But I'm kinda excited because three of my favorite GCWers are down this way.

BUMP because of some huge news for a member of the GCW roster.

This was posted in the NWA-TNA folder regarding the X-Division match on tomorrow night's show, from NWATNA.com:

"In place of the match (Shocker and Negro Casas) were to be involved in will be a six man X Division match involving Frankie Kazarian, Matt Sydal, Derek Wylde, Showtime Eric Young, Matt Stryker, and Kid Romeo. Kazarian must win this match to get a shot at Chris Sabin's X Division Title."

This is a great moment for one of the GCW regulars to make an appearance on the live pay-per-view...Matt was the first GCW competitor to wrestle on XPlosion(against Jimmy Rave back in February) and now it looks like he'll be the first GCW competitor to appear on an NWA-TNA PPV. Congratulations, Matt!

BUMP because a match between Matt and Delirious(with Daizee in Matt's corner) aired on NWA Wildside TV this past weekend...it was taped about a month ago. Here's the report from WO.com:

"(1) Matt Sydal (with Daizee Haze) beat Delirious in 6:32. Two promising cruiserweight from Gateway Championship Wrestling in St. Louis in their Wildside debut. Prazak kind of spoiled the illusion by mentioning that this was like their 38th singles match. Haze, a 100 pound dynamo, might be the most interesting talent of the three. A cute girl next door look sets Haze apart from the typical indie valet. Not the type you would expect to turn up dancing in a cage on NWA-TNA.

The match opened with some quick and smooth matwork. Too smooth really. Delirious, the masked guy, went from a spinning toehold into the nearly extinct Kiwi leg roll, "the move that made Abe Jacobs the legend that he is today," said Prazak. They went into a rapid series of back and forth pins (and not the played out Malenko-Geurrero stuff either). It ended with a backslide stalemate. Sydal kicked off the buckles to flip over the top of Delirious, who did a great late tuck on a monkey flip bump. Delirious went to the outside. There was Haze trying to hide her laughter. Delerious pie faced her to the floor. Sydal did a springboard flip dive on Delirious. Back inside, Sydal frustrated Delirious by dodging his punches. Delirious charged into Sydal's huracanrana. Sweet. Delirious spit at Haze and raked Sydal's eyes. Delirious hit a slingshot clothesline for a two count. Delirious lathered up an old time thumb thrust into Sydal's throat. Sydal blocked a powerbomb. Delirious went under Sydal's leapfrog into a baseball slide on Haze. Delirious pulled the ropes down on Sydal's crossbody attempt. Sydal took a corkscrew bump to the floor into Haze. Sydal checked on Haze. Sydal bolted into the ring with a dropkick to the knee of Delirious and applied an Indian deathlock. Delirious countered with the In Vitro Fertilization, a powerbomb dropped into a stunner. Delirious stung Sydal with chops. Sydal gave Delirious a reverse hiptoss and used his back as a launching pad for a standing moonsault. Sydal got crotched on the top and dropped into the ring. Delirious hit Sydal with a running knee. Delirious used a foreign object on Sydal. That brought Haze up on the apron to complain to ref Mike Posey. Delirious grabbed Haze by the hair. Haze slapped Delirious and quickly climbed the ropes for a huracanrana. Sydal hit a dazed Delirious with a Dragonrana for the pin."

GCW Wrestlepalooza was a night of returns...scheduled and otherwise. More on that later.

In the night's opening matchup, Jeremy Lightfoot went one-on-one with Crocodile Kid...err, make that "The Croc", whose mannerisms seemed oddly familiar. Croc's attitude change didn't help him attain victory, though, as the "Croc Elbow" missed its mark and Lightfoot scored the victory with the Lightfoot Driver(fireman's carry spun into a Michinoku Driver). Post-match, Lightfoot thanked GCW for the opportunity and said that he didn't want to be a "gimmick" anymore...and he just wanted to be called Jeremy.

Next up, Nightbreed faced the Party Animals in tag team action. At first it seemed like Jackal and Cabal were the more cohesive unit, but Jynx and Rat Boy rallied toward the end with some nice double-teams. Nightbreed turned things around and Jackal low-blowed Jynx, then hit the Killswitch to pick up the three-count as Cabal finished off Rat Boy with a pumphandle slam.

In a battle of mat wrestlers, Ian Storm faced GCW newcomer Kory Kruz. Kruz showed some impressive maneuvers and repeatedly tried to choke out Storm with a version of the dragon sleeper, but Ian showed some grappling skills of his own and made Kruz submit to the Toolbox.

The fourth match of the evening was scheduled to be Makaze vs. Dark Star, refereed by C.J. McManus, but Dark Star failed to appear. Sindy complained about the lack of competition and said that SOMEBODY would get theirkicked tonight...and Makaze attacked McManus! C.J. was up to the challenge and fought back, but there was no referee for the match...until Sean Vincent made an appearance. C.J. was distracted and Makaze dropped him with an inverted DDT, and at that point Vincent called for the opening bell and made a fast three-count to give Makaze the victory! Post-match, McManus challenged Vincent to a match at AF'NO 19, "Flashback"...and he guaranteed that it would be "fantastic".

In a match that Big Bad Ben claimed Billy McNeil paid five dollars for, The Irish Luchador faced Daizee Haze. It was a very competitive matchup, as Daizee showed her toughness by surviving McNeil's best moves(including the Surf 'N' Turf Combo Platter). McNeil missed a moonsault and Daizee rallied, nearly picking up the upset when she fell on top of McNeil in the middle of a superplex attempt, but the Trigger Effect made the difference in this one as McNeil took home the win.

At this point, Mike The Mime staggered out to the ring to issue an open challenge to anyone on the roster, and it was answered by none other than the returning "Whole Drunken Show" Sam Bacardi! Bacardi made short work of the mime, hitting his flying elbowsmash and the Bacardi Shooter to get the pin within seconds! Afterwards, Mike demanded a rematch with Bacardi at AF'NO...in a Distillery Ironman Match!

The last match before intermission was the STL Clique, Kevin & Steve Sharp, facing D'Mon G and Sean Vincent, accompanied by Coach Chuck Farley. Sean Vincent was humiliated early by Steve Sharp but, to his credit, came back swinging, and he and D'Mon were able to isolate Kevin Sharp for several minutes. Kevin hit "Slim Sexy" with a Makeover out of nowhere and D'Mon broke things up with a spear on Kevin, then Steve planted D'Mon with a spinebuster! The referee was out of position breaking up the fight between Steve Sharp and Sean Vincent out on the floor and missed D'Mon seemingly having Kevin pinned, but once the referee was back in the game, Kevin Sharp caught D'Mon in the Facelift as Steve held off Vincent! D'Mon was forced to tap out as Kevin had him caught in mid-ring!

The intermission was highlighted by a musical performance by Super Castaldi Loco, who did a fine job. Sam Bacardi watched the performance and had to deal with the rather enthusiastic fan participation of Rat Boy and Jim Tennings, including Rat Boy stage-diving into a row of chairs!

After intermission, it was four-corner match time as recent NWA-TNA pay-per-view competitors Matt and Delirious(w/ MsChif) went into battle with OuTtkaSt and the returning Mike Sharona. This one was fast action from start to finish and bodies were flying everywhere...Matt hit his cannonball plancha to the floor and Sharoan executed his trademark Asai moonsault. In the end, though, it was KaSt that got the duke after hitting the Case Study on Sharona.

MsChif(w/ Delirious) defended the GCW Light Heavyweight Title against Super Electro. Electro had the fans on his side and appeared to have things going his way, but Jackal made an appearance at ringside, distracing the referee long enough for Delirious to get in a cheap shot. MsChif then finished the job with a Code Red(bodyscissors sunset flip).

It was then time for the main event, as Nikki Strychnine defended the GCW Heavyweight Title against Diamond Back Dingo. The fight went all over Aggies', even up onto the stage where the Castaldis were preparing for their encore performance. Nikki threw Dingo off the stage, then threw one of the Castaldis off as well! Back in the ring, Dingo missed a moonsault and Strychnine hit the Lethal Injection...but only got a two-count! Frustrated, Nikki went for the toxic waste, but Dingo ducked and McManus was blinded by mistake! Dingo caught Nikki in the Dingo Driver, but McManus was out of commission and couldn't make the three-count!

At this point, Strychnine went for a steel chair, but one of the Castaldis, seemingly wanting to avenge the earlier attack, grabbed it away from him...then turned and nailed Dingo with it! The Castaldi then unmasked to reveal "The Human Wrecking Ball" Pete Madden! Madden delivered his signature chairsault onto Dingo for good measure, and a groggy McManus counted three as Nikki planted a foot on Dingo's chest!

Post-match, Madden confirmed that HE was the one who snapped Nikki out of his heartbroken funk...and they proceeded to beat down Dingo. Suddenly, "The Alaskan Heartthrob" Jack Adonis made a shocking appearance, diving into the ring and standing between Dingo and the attackers...

But out of nowhere, Adonis bagtagged Dingo and blasted him with the chair! It turned out Madden has orchestrated the whole plan, convincing Adonis that the fans were ungrateful...Adonis lashed out at the people in attendance, yelling that they didn't know what it was like to put family life on hold for a wrestling career! Adonis pulled out a hit list for the new group(after first coming up with his grocery list), and Dingo was first...and Dingo was then subjected to another chairshot!

Commissioner Keith Smith had had enough and rushed the ring...only to get chaired in the midsection! The threesome, who declared themselves "The Fourth Reich", attempted to cripple Smith with the chair, but Big Bad Ben dived in to shield Keith with his own body, taking several chairshots from Adonis! At this point, the locker room emptied, but the Fourth Reich was just leaving...

A fired-up Ben vowed revenge on Madden, who apparently suggested the Castaldi band performance to begin with, and also Adonis, saying that he would personally welcome him back to GCW in the middle of the ring! Dingo likewise promised to kick Strychnine'sand regain his title...as for Keith Smith, he felt things had gotten too personal for him to objectively deal with, and he surprisingly stepped down as commissioner...but he said that things weren't over yet as far as he was concerned...

I don't know if I'll go to the 26 th or not. I know it'll be better than the LAW show but the LAW show is also 2 hours closer than St Louis. And what's been announced so far for A F'N O 19 doesn't make me wanna do the drive so far. Bacardi and Mike should be entertaining though.

I'll probably cave in and do the 2 hour drive. It'll probably depend on how I feel that day.

Last show was good. It didn't mean as much to me since I haven't seen Madden or Adonis live before and I'm not familiar with the whole backstory very much. I know Madden and Strychnine are brothers but that's about all I know.

But Cape looks good...really good.

As for Madden and Strychnine, I'll do my best to fill you in.

At GCW's first show ever, Madden and Strychnine joined forces with Sindy as their manager after Madden won the inaugural tournament for the GCW Title. They were in control for most of 2000, but as time passed, Madden started objecting to Nikki's increasingly violent actions and actually started telling him not to interfere in his matches. This included the match where Madden lost the title to Big Bad Ben. Finally, about two months after the title loss, Madden got a rematch and when Pete again told Nikki not to interfere, Nikki snapped and attacked his partner, costing him the match against Ben.

The two had a wild brawl on GCW TV, including Pete executing the only "sledsault" ever, and it ended with Nikki tying Pete up in the ropes and cutting his hair. A grudge match was signed in March 2001, Nikki's hair vs. Pete's career, and Nikki defeated him with the Lethal Injection to "retire" the Human Wrecking Ball. Post-match, Big Bad Ben(then a heel) powerbombed Madden, but Madden returned the favor later that night by chairsaulting Ben through a table and costing him the belt to Kevin Sharp.

Nikki won the belt for the first time in October 2001, but at the Midwest Mania show in November, Madden made an appearance as the special referee for a match between Balls Mahoney and Big Bad Ben. Pete was the difference-maker as he attacked Ben allowing Balls to win, but then Nikki attacked Pete, furious over his return. Ben defeated Madden at the first-ever AF'NO in an exploding barbed wire match, but Pete vs. Nikki was just getting restarted.

On GCW TV, Nikki forced Pete to run a gauntlet of three matches to earn a title shot, which he did...and in the title match in February 2002, Pete executed a chairsault off the top turnbuckle to put Nikki through a table on the floor, winning the belt!

One month later, Madden defended against Jack Adonis, and Nikki inserted himself into the match, costing Madden the belt. Nikki would then beat Madden in an exploding barbed wire match(with help from MsChif) and Madden would take a long hiatus from GCW after that...

Until now, that is. I had suspected that Pete was the one who helped Nikki once again "see the light" and return to his old self...and now the truth has been revealed.

The whole Dingo-Madden aspect is pretty cool too, Dingo idolized Pete and emulated some of Pete's trademark moves(fisherman buster through a chair, moonsault/chairsault which he used to win the GCW Title in March). They were even briefly tag team partners last year too.

They don't offer the old tv show tapes for sale do they?I wouldn't mind seeing some of that stuff.

I should have my pics back Thursday but I still don't have anywhere to show them so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I know GCW once sold a "Best Of GCW TV" videotape, but I don't know if that's available any more...and I don't know if they're gonna do any more of them(especially since the TV for the past year has been clipped house show matches).

BUMP for this week's GCW-on-XPlosion update...

Matt Sydal and Delirious worked a match with Kid Kash and Abyss for XPlosion.

Also, MADMAN PONDO worked the XPlosion taping, teaming with Nate "Spyder" Webb and Dirk Ciglar against Ron "The Truth" Killings, B.G. James, and Konnan.

A FAN'S PERSPECTIVE #28

There comes a time in everyone's life where they start seeing things as they really are, rather than through the rose-colored glasses provided by those around them.

There comes a time when you discover that the people you looked up to...the people you idolized...the people you wanted to be most like...aren't quite what you thought they were.

Who knows what was going through Diamond Back Dingo's mind last Saturday? As it stands right now, the closing moments of his championship match with Nikki Strychnine will be forever engraved in his mind.

Dingo had incredibly survived the Lethal Injection, a finishing maneuver that had spelled defeat for countless opponents of the Poison Prince. Nikki was frustrated and went to his toxic waste, but the spew instead blinded referee C.J. McManus. Dingo capitalized on the miscue and planted the Toxic Titan with his patented Dingo Driver.

One...two...three...the fans counted, but the referee was unable to follow suit. Dingo seemingly had the title in his grasp.

Strychnine went for a steel chair...but one of the Super Castaldis entered the ring, stopping Strychnine from using it. It seemed as though the Castaldi wanted to get revenge on Strychnine for disrupting the band setup earlier in the night.

Instead, "Castaldi" wheeled around and blasted Dingo with the chair. The mask came off, and underneath was..."The Human Wrecking Ball" Pete Madden. Dingo was dazed from the chair to the head...the Madden chairsault that followed was icing on the cake.

I have to think back to events from last year in GCW...for a brief period of time, Madden and Dingo were tag team partners. It seemed like Dingo had earned the respect of Madden in the hardcore matches they had against each other...matches where Dingo scored some upset victories over the former GCW and MRW Champion.

To Dingo, imitation was the sincerest form of flattery. The use of the fisherman buster(or Dingo Driver) onto a set-up steel chair. The chairsault. Dingo used these moves to pay homage to a competitor that he considered his idol.

To Madden, it was a show of disrespect. He saw Dingo as a "wannabe" rather than a respectful protege.

Last year, it looked like Madden was preparing to pass the torch to Dingo. This year, Madden is holding onto that torch with everything he's got, and if the torch isn't going to be passed...Dingo may just have to pry it out of Madden's unconscious hands.

-----

That wasn't even the most shocking thing that happened last Saturday...what is going through the mind of Jack Adonis?

For a long time, Adonis played the rulebreaker and did whatever the hell he wanted to. Despite that, there was a certain segment of the fanbase that cheered him, no matter what underhanded tactics he used. Over time, Adonis gradually began to appreciate the adulation of the GCW audience and catered to the fans more and more.

So how could Adonis come to believe that the fans, the ones who cheered him even when he was trying his damndest to piss them off, were unappreciative?

Maybe it's Pete Madden's doing. It seems like all of this is his brainchild...he helped Nikki Strychnine return to his roots, and now he's done the same for the "Alaskan Heartthrob".

On one hand, some people feel that Adonis is more effective as a rulebreaker. On the other hand, his GCW Heavyweight Title wins came as a fan favorite...and the belt that he once so intently pursued is around the waist of one of his new allies.

All I know is, the "Fourth Reich" is gonna cause a lot of headaches for GCW management...and a lot of steel chair-induced headaches for their opponents in the ring.

-----

I've gotta give credit where it's due to the GCW Light Heavyweight Champion MsChif...she's taken on all comers and come away with the gold still around her waist. Delirious and Nightbreed have played a role as well, but there's no doubt that MsChif is a formidable competitor even without the outside help.

Gotta wonder what she thinks of Strychnine's return to glory...

And where does OuTtKaSt fit into all of this?

-----

Matt (Sydal) and Delirious reached a great career milestone on July 9th, making their debuts on national pay-per-view for NWA-TNA. Congratulations to both of them!

Of course, now they'll have to deal with the opponents who will be looking to make a name for themselves at the expense of the "PPV superstars"...

-----

I have to cringe every time I see Daizee Haze take a major hit in a match...but she's proven herself to be extremely tough, taking her lumps and getting right back up. That deserves a lot of respect in my book.

I like high-flying and hardcore brawls as much as the next guy, but a well-done mat wrestling contest can be great as well. MAD PROPZ(as the kidz would say) to Ian Storm and Kory Kruz for their matchup at Wrestlepalooza; hope to see more of Kruz in GCW in the future.

Didn't take long for Sean Vincent to pick another fight with C.J. McManus...McManus' in-ring return was cut short by Vincent's involvement, and it looks like the feud between these two is starting up all over again. C.J. promises that the matchup at the next Adults F'n Only show may just get a little "fantastic"...

I wasn't there live, but from watching the videotape, the Distillery Ironman Match last year between Sam Bacardi and Sean Vincent was one of the most entertaining "gimmick matches" I'd ever seen. I suspect the clash between Bacardi and Mike The Mime in a few weeks will be no different.

...well, I'm drawing a blank on other stuff to talk about. I'm sure someone will yell at me next Saturday for forgetting them, don't worry.

BUMP because some GCWers worked another NWA Wildside TV taping.

Delirious lost to Junior Heavyweight Champ Seth Delay, while Matt Sydal(w/ Daizee Haze) was in a four-way dance with Salvatore Rinauro, Altar Boy Luke, and Ray Gordy(Luke won, eliminating Matt last).

EDIT: And I wonder if this is who I think it is:

"6) Jeremy V and Brandon P beat Brandon Knight and Dingo (a crazy guy billed from Australia) ".

:)

Also, "The Adult shows will be filled in soon, we're trying to start TV tapings again as soon as the remolding is done at Aggies. Also lining up Bellville to finish out the year.

I really was leaning towards not going but Strychnine vs Delirious and MsChif vs OuTtKaSt will be worth the drive. I might even leave early enough to get there to get a decent seat for a change.

More Cape! Return to DeSoto (a half hour closer but a pain in the ass to find) and tv tapings!! Not that I get the tv show down here but they may eventually end up on tape somewhere.
