Guest Crux Report post Posted April 12, 2003 An article this month from "Movie Entertainment Source Magazine" states: "Bob Weinstein, co-founder of Miramax Film Corp. and it's subordinate Dimension Films, released a press statement today regarding the upcoming horror movie, "Cursed". Mr. Weinstein confirmed, "Yes, Neve Campbell has signed on for the new Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson werewolf picture. It centers around teenagers in highschool who eventually come to a point where they are being stalked by werewolves. Nobody is really sure who is a werewolf and who isn't. There's alot fun to be had and let's just say surprises will happen." When asked if Weinstein had left the Scream franchise for good, he replied, "When a movie makes close to a hundred million dollars and it's budget was less than half that, it's only logical to assume that the audiences out there still want more. Part of Neve Campbell's contract upon signing for the movie Cursed, was that she had to agree to sign for a 4th Scream if we were to begin production on it within the next five years. I've also told Kevin to be ready incase we decide to do a quick jump start production like Scream 2's, to which Kevin replied, "Oh, I've got a good idea. If you're able to sign anyone from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd films... I'll be good to go." All I ask now is not to even worry about Scream 4 at the moment. All our focus is attentioned towards Cursed. If you want to see a Scream 4, then tell everyone about our new werewolf film." As Mr. Weinstein headed off the podium a member of the press asked weather or not Wes Craven will be back for Scream 4. A smiling Bob Weinstein said, "Wes is very busy for the next 2 years. No comment at this time." --end of article. Jamie Kennedy has recently appeared in two recent interviews talking about a scream 4, in one of them(MovieHole) he says they probably will do a fourth but not for a few more years(he mentions possibly 2006, the tenth anniversary) because everyone is burnt out on them at the moment. The other interview is an E-online one. The two most stand out questions are: From brookejason: Would you do Scream 4 if they approached you? Jamie answers: Yes. From ajfreak: If you could do a spinoff of Scream with one of your costars from the trilogy, who would it be and why? Jamie answers: Parker Posey--she's really funny.. Movie Entertainment Source Magazine_ "Apparent inside sources reveal that Kevin Williamson will not use his original Scream 3 treatment for Scream 4 if and when it occurs. The original treatment supposedly had the character of Randy playing a bigger role than what ended up in the final version. Due to the events that happened in the theatrical version of Scream 3, it would be impossible for Kevin to use his original treatment as a basis for part 4. Rumors have it that there have been some ideas for the next installment thrown around. One of which involves the fact that at the end of the final chapter in the trilogy story, four main characters(Gale, Dewey, Sidney, Det. Kincaid)survive and at the end of the first Scream, four main characters survived(Gale, Dewey, Sidney, Randy). This would then allow the series to abandon it's trilogy status and tie the 4 main characters to the 4 in the title." --end of article Why wont they let it die? I hope this idea never sees the light of day.

Guest Marshall Report post Posted April 12, 2003 Has anyone seen that wierd bootleg that claims to be Scream 4? It is shit. Kylie is in it for whatever reason.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 12, 2003 Why would Jamie Kennedy be in Scream 4? His character is DEAD.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 12, 2003 Scream can suck on my balls. The characters got way too annyoing after a while and they still wouldn't kill off the main 3.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Report post Posted April 12, 2003 I'm just sick of them calling Scream a trilogy when it's not. I hate them all.
Guest Mole Report post Posted April 13, 2003 The first one was awesome. However, Scream started the horror movie craze, which got old after awhile.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted April 13, 2003 I think the horror movie craze would be great if the movies didn't suck. The Ring seems to have started a craze of bringing Jap Horror stuff over, which is good. My copy of the Battle Royale and Ring books and the Uzumaki manga have all been ordered
Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted April 13, 2003 Has anyone seen that wierd bootleg that claims to be Scream 4? It is shit. Kylie is in it for whatever reason. Are you sure you're not talking about the Australian neo-slasher Cut? That has Kylie Minogue in it, and I can imagine some KaZaA-er somewhere renaming it "Scream 4" because he gets off on fake-naming files. Same guy who renamed Lord of the Rings "Terminator 3". Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 13, 2003 Scream (the first one) is one of my all time favorite movies. EVER. The next two I hated with a passion. So...go ahead and make the movie...the greatness of the original has already been pissed on anyway.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted April 13, 2003 I wouldn't call the first one "great." But it was a very enjoyable movie. The 3rd one was the drizzling shits and I watched it one night I couldn't sleep
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 13, 2003 The first one is pure satirical genius. I always found it funny that it kick started the horror genre when it wasn't really a horror movie.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 13, 2003 I liked the second one when I first saw it, but even then, I was hoping they wouldn't ruin the series by making a third one. By the time I saw Scream 3, I pretty much hated all those characters I loved in the first 2 movies. Parker Posey chewing the scenery was a lot of fun to watch though, and was the sole redeeming feature of that movie.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 13, 2003 I agree with Areacode on that. Parker Posey was, as always, worth watching.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 13, 2003 There's this scene where she & Gale Weathers are sneaking down the stairs, and Parker just leaps sideways into the shot in this "Scooby-Doo Gang" pose that I find hilarious. Also, supposedly she ad-libbed the line, "Fifty dollars?!? Who are you, a reporter for Woodsboro High?", my favorite line of the movie.

Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 13, 2003 Im willing to bet at this point there will be a 4th Scary Movie before there will be a 4th Scream.

It was a movie called CUT, thats it. My friend bought it on VCD, he was fooled into thinking it was SCREAM 4. It had a SCREAM 4 cover and everything.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted April 13, 2003 It centers around teenagers in highschool who eventually come to a point where they are being stalked by werewolves. Nobody is really sure who is a werewolf and who isn't. Didn't Kevin Williamson already do this exact same idea in The Faculty?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 13, 2003 The Faculty centered around alien parasite things (or something like that) not werewolves.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Im willing to bet at this point there will be a 4th Scary Movie before there will be a 4th Scream. Well...actually..... With Scary Movie 3 scheduled for an October 3 release, Dimension Films has greenlit a fourth installment that will start production in June, says Variety. Scary Movie 4, which Dimension has slated for first-quarter 2004 release, will reteam the third film's director David Zucker with scribes Craig Mazin and Pat Proft and producer Bob Weiss. Following in the satirical footsteps of the franchise, the fourth film will take on upcoming horror flicks as well as the superhero genre. "We are so confidant in the team we have working on "Scary Movie 3" and so pleased with what we have seen that we want to continue the momentum and begin production right away," said Dimension co-chair Bob Weinstein in a statement. A handful of the third film's cast will return for the fourth installment, and additional casting is under way.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Scream was good because it was designed to be a big satire on the slasher genre from the 80's(One that Wes Craven helped create with the SUPER CLASSIC, NOES) however, the masses didn't even understand that the movie was a satire, and wasn't supposed to be taken seriously, instead they took it as a serious horror flick and word must have gotten back to Wes and Dimension films because then they went on to make the terrible sequels. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted April 14, 2003 The Faculty centered around alien parasite things (or something like that) not werewolves. Yeah, but the whole plot idea of a bunch of kids in high school being turned into monsters, and everyone's paranoid because they don't know who their friends and enemies are, I mean, you don't see the really obvious connection here? Same could be said with the awful Disturbing Behavior. The only saving grace of the movie. "Will you go out with me?" "uh...no." 'WHY NOT!!!!" I laughed my balls off at that
