Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Imagine a Steiner Brothers vs. Pillman & Zenk match in 1990. Both teams were faces, but they could take turns playing the heels working over a member of the other team. Obviously the Steiners would probably go over and a group hug would result... but I think this match could easily break the **** level. Your thoughts? Was there ever a Steiners vs. Midnights match from 1990 that was given 20 minutes atleast?
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Flair/Austin in 1994 would have rocked the shiznit. Bret/Angle...we could all wish can't we. Rock & Roll Express vs Arn & Tully - I nkow it happened but I wanted it on PPV.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 14, 2003 I still think about the many blown chances WCW had from 1989-1994 with the tag Matches...
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 14, 2003 Bret/Angle...we could all wish can't we. And think, if Kurt accepted the WWF's offer after Atlanta 96, we could have got it.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 15, 2003 Maybe...But Angle was in OVW for a year...So I don't know if Angle would've debuted on time...

Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 15, 2003 I've said it before and I'll say it again, Randy Savage (85-89) vs HHH (2000-2001) No DQ
Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted April 15, 2003 Maybe...But Angle was in OVW for a year...So I don't know if Angle would've debuted on time... Well he was in OVW for about year, which if he started right after the Olympics in 96 would mean he could've been put in The Patriot's place at Ground Zero, and would've always had that music. Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted April 15, 2003 I've said it before and I'll say it again, Randy Savage (85-89) vs HHH (2000-2001) No DQ I'll go a similiar route and say 85-59 Savage vs. Chris Jericho from 1998. Must include pre and post match interviews!
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2003 I'd say an Austin(97) vs Savage(85) No Holds barred match. That'd be wild.

Guest JHawk Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Was there ever a Steiners vs. Midnights match from 1990 that was given 20 minutes atleast? Nothing televised that I'm aware of, but a lot of great stuff at house shows if you can find a fancam of it.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I always wanted to see heel Kurt Angle (early-2000 version) against face Dude Love for no good reason.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I GOTTA get that match. Has anyone seen it and was it as good as I could imagine it being? You know, it says Shotgun but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a dark match. I believe they had more than one during this time. Angle spoke of it in his book as well. Angle spring 99 is NOT Angle 03 - and this was a squash match - so I wouldn't lay claim to the bout being anything other than noteworthy on paper.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Steiners v Williams/Dibiase Dory Jr v Nick Bockwinkle Owen v Flair Benoit v Masato Tanaka These would kick ass.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 16, 2003 i know angle/Owen likely was a squash but I would still be something amazing to see those two in the same ring...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I'll Start with Bret Hart... Bret Hart Vs Kurt Angle Bret Hart Vs Chris Jericho (as far as I know these two never had a Televised Match) Bret Hart Vs Eddy Guerreno Bret Hart Vs Hulk Hogan Bret Hart Vs Great Muta Others... Steiner Brothers Vs Edge and Christian Steiner Brothers Vs Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit MVC Vs Benoit and Angle Kurt Angle Vs Vader Great Muta Vs Kurt Angle Sting Vs Kurt Angle Sting Vs Triple H Sting Vs The Rock Roddy Piper Vs Chris Jericho Roddy Piper Vs The Rock Brian Pillman Vs Owen Hart Brian Pillman Vs Chris Benoit Brian Pillman Vs Chris Jericho RVD Vs Jushin Lyger (Maybe, I don't know Puro/Lucha history) Ric Flair Vs Kurt Angle Ric Flair Vs Triple H Ric Flair Vs Chris Benoit
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 The match I would love to see is RVD vs. Muta... they both had such innovative offense, especially Muta in his prime, when he came to the NWA for awhile, when he was taking on Ric Flair.. For tag teams, I would say the British Bulldogs (pre-Matilda) against the Midnight Express (Eaton/Lane)
Guest DR PHIL Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Rey Mysterio Vs Jushin Lyger (Maybe, I don't know Puro/Lucha history) I'm sure this happened numerous times in mexico and japan, but they fought at wcw starrcade 96.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 16, 2003 I Knew that! I meant to put RVD instead...Stupid Me.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted April 16, 2003 According to this site, , Owen/Angle was indeed a dark match. But check this out. Credit ddtdigest.com Dark Match: Owen Hart pinned Kurt Angle after a spinning heel kick. Poor Owen. He's gone from Intercontinental Champion and a major player on WWF's pay-per-views to doing dark matches for Monday night shows. I just hope he doesn't try a piledriver. Angle comes out to Del Wilkes' (The Patriot) old theme. As misused as Hart has been, he still gets heat, even though it's in the form of ten thousand plus fans yelling "Nugget!" This would be your cookie-cutter Nitro or Thunder match. Kurt controls at the start and hits a Northern Lights suplex at one point for two. Hart grabs Angle on a leapfrog attempt and powerbombs him. Angle comes back with a powerslam but Hart hits an enziguri shortly after. Hart goes up top and gets crotched, allowing Angle to hit a superplex for two. Hart comes off the ropes into Angle, who hesitates for about two seconds before applying a side belly-to-belly suplex. Hart finishes Angle off with a spinning heel kick. Angle looked alright, but he needs some polish before going on Heat or RAW. You're welcome.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 16, 2003 ANGLE NEEDS POLISH? Wow. The first and ONLY time that likely ever been said... So I guess Owen/Angle wasn't all that much...
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2003 Bret Hart Vs Hulk Hogan Brian Pillman Vs Owen Hart Ric Flair Vs Chris Benoit While it's true just about all of those matches never took place on TV, some of them did happen. Bret fought Hogan across several California shows in the summer of 99, when Hogan had the strap and before Bret returned to action after Owen's death. I believe it was just over one weekend. They were all draws / no contests after the interference of, I believe, Lex Luger. Pillman fought Owen in the 97 IC title tournament. This particular match was held at the famous Raw @ MSG telecast about a week before Pillman's death. Now, if it were Pillman 91-93 against Owen 93-99 - THAT would have ruled. This match wasn't much to speak of since the two were teammates and it included the interference of Goldust. Benoit beat Flair around the WCW house show circuit around the time of Mayhem 99 / Starrcade 99, to give Benoit more credibility as a main event player.
