Guest eiker_ir Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 i'm really looking foward to seeing this
Guest GameCop Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 Reminds me of the 2001 Royal Rumble poster *marks out anyway*
Guest Flyboy Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 That poster looks kinda ghey, and I'm a X-Men geek (kind of).
Guest Lethargic Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 That poster looks kinda ghey, and I'm a X-Men geek (kind of). That would explain the picture of that mutant in your sig. ZIIIIIINGGG!
Guest DawnBTVS Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 *marks hard for Anna Paquin(Rogue)*
Guest Karnage Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 Reminds me of the 2001 Royal Rumble poster I think those were supposed to resemble the early 90s Royal Rumble posters. Paquin looks f'n hot in this poster.
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 The 2001 Rumble poster was a take off of the '93 Rumble Poster. Both were cartoon representations of the wrestlers.
Guest eiker_ir Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 wasn't the 1992 RR poster a cartoon of all wrestlers too?
Guest starvenger Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 I guess Halle Berry earned her pay with this poster...
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 Maybe it was the '92 poster I was thinking of.
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 It was '92 I was thinking of. Here it is:
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Such a cool Rumble. Rumble '92 rules!!
Guest eiker_ir Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 yea it rulz, it was my first rumble, and i remember the cover because i rented it on Blockbuster and for some reason it got stuck in my head
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 1991 Rumble also had a similar cartoon poster/cover.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 OK I'm not a huge X-Man fan (except both the cartoons, loved those things) and I can identify the usual suspects (Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, etc. etc. even Nightcrawler WAAAYYYY in the back) but a couple quick questions. Who's the guy behind Jean (looks to be in a suit rather than an X-Man outfit)? and The commercials seem to insinuate that Deathstrike is working against the X-Men. Why is she with them in the poster? I can assume it's just so they can get Kelly Hu in the poster, but it looks like they're making her out to be one of the good guys. Unless it's all a SHOCKING SWERVE~! Ideas would be welcome. Like I said I don't know the history of the comic so be gentle.
Guest eiker_ir Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 i believe the guy behind Jean Grey is Pyro, altough is not too clear, maybe it's colossus? and i think they just put all the mutants in the poster, goor or evil, see the tag line of the movie: ''The time has come, for those who are different, to stay united''
Guest NoCalMike Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I read some early reviews on this and so far people think the storyline is just fucking great in this flick and to explain the poster for the guy who was asking *possible spoiler* Syntax: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I believe in this movie, it comes down to the X-men having to unite with Magneto's crew and other mutant bandits for the good of Mutant kind. I hope that was vague enough to explain without ruining anything
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 i believe the guy behind Jean Grey is Pyro, altough is not too clear, maybe it's colossus? It is Pyro. If Colossus is to be found anywhere on the poster, it'd be that guy in the background between Wolverine and Rogue. And if I had to field a guess, that's none other than... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Beast right behind him.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I like how Wolvie got the badass new suit.

I can assume it's just so they can get Kelly Hu in the poster, but it looks like they're making her out to be one of the good guys. Unless it's all a SHOCKING SWERVE~! It's probably an excuse to get Kelly Hu on the poster. Doesn't make sense, but I'm not complaining...

Guest Mole Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 That poster if phat, and the bottom with the date on the X to show that it is X2 is great. However, this movie is now called X-Men United because people might not know what X2 is.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 It was renamed X-Men United? Where did you hear that? I hope it's from a questionable source, because that's an awful name.
Guest SP-1 Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Filmforce IGN is reporting that as the title now too. Yuck. Maybe it'll grow on me. I was sketchy on ATTACK OF TEH CLONES too.
Guest eiker_ir Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 actually it's not just 'X-Men United', it's... ''X2: X-men United''
Conspiracy_Victim Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 OK thanks for the input. I thought Pyro was one of the younger X-Men in training, but we'll see. Now WHERE'S GAMBIT??
Guest Mole Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 It was renamed X-Men United? Where did you hear that? I hope it's from a questionable source, because that's an awful name. This is from 411: X2, the upcoming sequel to X-Men, has been changed to X-Men United. Fox changed the name after deciding that some people might not know what X2 stands for. Credit: LatinoReview.com
Guest El Satanico Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Credit: LatinoReview.com Hopefully it's just for the Spanish market and someone misunderstood the news they were reporting. For some reason X-men United makes me think of a English soccer club.
