TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I just saw this yesterday and I must it is an excellent movie. Extremely underrated featuring a great cast including Ethan Hawke, James Rebhorn, James Cromwell and the wonderful Max Von Sydow. A smart movie which can get quite hard to ofllow as it has atleast 3 different sotrylines going at once and a very sad rendition of what happened to Japanese Americans during World II. If you are a fan of movies I thoroughly recommend watching this movie and enjoying an underrated masterpiece.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I haven't watched this film in ages, though I do remember liking it just fine. What I remember most about it though is the absolutely gorgeous cinematography, and the performance of Max von Sydow (being swedish I just have to mark for him ).
Guest starvenger Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I tried watching it but I was bored out of my mind after 30 min. None of my friends (and we're all Asian) liked it much either. I guess we're not the historical drama types...
Guest Incandenza Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Pretentious load of quasi-philosophical garbage. Lovely photography, though. Would have rather not seen it, but since I did, I'm glad it was on the big screen.
Guest MDH257 Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Yes, a great movie that not enough people have seen.
