I've never seen anything from NOAH but I'm intrested in getting some tapes. Have they ever had any MOTYC's or stand out shows? Any help or a site where I could find reviews would be appreciated.

"Have they ever had any MOTYC's or stand out shows?"

I havne't seen anything that I would consider to be a high end MOTYC out of NOAH.  The Akiyama vs Kobashi from 12/00 and Misawa vs Takayama from 4/01 were both great matches (**** or maybe a tad higher).  From what I understand, there were a couple of really good matches in the last 1/4 of 2001 Takaiwa vs Kanemaru, Misawa/Ogawa vs Ohtani/Omori, Misawa/Ogawa vs Vader/Scorpio and Marufuji vs Takaiwa.

12/23/00 show was very good and is probably a good place to start.  I havne't picked up any NOAH comm releases in quite a while so I can't vouch for much.  I understand the 12/9/01 card is coming out in "no cut" format in a couple of weeks.  The show was said to be very strong and has the aforementioned Marufuji vs Takaiwa (getting a ton of praise as best jr match of 2001).

The first two PPVs that they ran after the departure are entertaining, but not blow away shows.  The main of Taue/Misawa vs. Kobashi/Akiyama from the first PPV is a fun match, though.  It introduces the style of NOAH well, which is not a carbon copy of the 90's AJ style, but close with more emphisis on submissions.  They really didn't stick to that mindset, however.  The second PPV is not too great.  Kobashi vs. Akiyama is a perfectly acceptable match, but 12/23/00 is better.  The 1 year anniversary show is a fun show, too.  Modest vs. Ogawa wasn't nearly as good as some pimped it to be, but it's a cool little match, especially if you've never seen Modest work in NOAH.  He's a blast.  Misawa vs. Akiyama in the main is a good match, too.  I say get the 1st PPV for historical reasons, pick up the 1 year Ann and like Justin said pick up that full length block when it comes out with the sweet juniors match.  Peace.

Has anyone seen NOAH's Junior Title tournament?  A cruiserweight wrestler friend of mine has been bugging me to buy it because he wants to get some work in Japan and wants to check out the varying cruiser styles, but I have this sneaking suspicion that any modern-day promotion which uses Juventud as a juniors main eventer might not be the best one to emulate.  Anyone have an opinion?

I have but two words for you, Jingus: Naomichi Marufuji. The only two words you need to at least LIKE NOAH junior's action.

Get 12/23/00 and a few Nippon tv shows from 2001!

Maybe you can have someone copy you the tv shows from 11/30 to 12/21 which feature Takaiwa-Kikuchi, Misawa/Ogawa-Scorp/Vader, Miawa/Ogawa-No Fear, Akiyama-Vader and Marufuji-Takaiwa. It's no **** to ***** material but it's fun to watch and the better part of the NOAH stuff.
