More antics from the anti-war crowd

The only way this would work is if it was a large scale protest. This isn't.

Like Tyler said, this isn't gonna work because there isn't near enough support behind it. These young (I'm guessing most are) people are screwing their future up in ways they don't know how, unfortunately, and it isn't even for that good of cause. I guess some people just want to have their own little 1960's Vietnam protest story ;).

Blech, yea, taxes do support the military, but not paying your taxes to protest the war is about as smart as not voting to protest an electoral candidate.

Protesting doesn't excuse you from following the law. This strikes me as a very insipid form of protest that doesn't get recognized at all. Wow, you didn't pay $300 in taxes. The IRS probably won't even notice.

Hippies refusing to pay taxes because they don't like the idea of their $ being used for miltitary purposes? Well, that's very nice sentiment there, Rainbow McDolphin, but this is a big country, and we you gotta pay the cover charge if you wanna party at Club America.

(Obviously, that's a Miller quote, but it sums up my thoughts exactly.)

Do military wages get paid from Taxes?

If so, they're no longer supporting the troops. And that's going to suck for them once somebody puts two and two together.

Ok I agree that this is ridiculous and outright stupid. But this is in NO WAY the first time a group against SOMETHING has said that they were going to refuse to pay taxes for such and such, and of course never followed through because it was a stupid thought in the first place.

Bush isn't supporting the troops either.

After all, we have to cut the Veterans Administration's budget to afford the tax cuts for corporate America...

OK, I'm usually on the side of the protestors as far as their rights to protest and express themselves goes, but give me a fucking break. Paying taxes isn't freedom of expression. It's the law. And everybody has to do it provided they make a certain amount of money every year.

Any thoughts on how many of these protestors didn't earn enough money to pay taxes anyway because they've been too busy protesting?

And that has what to do with paying the salaries of our boys getting shot at right now? I mean, my step-dad is a vet, fought in Korea and I see what you're saying but I don't quite see what it has to do with the present situation, other than how it may effect the survivors down the road. I meant supporting them right now. Hopefully, the next President will fix these cuts.
