Hell House....Documentary

I don't want to turn this into a political debate, since I am just commenting on the presentation of the documentary rather than my opinion of the views of the makers. I thought the people had good intentions with the making of hell house, however I think what they lacked is true research on the subjects. Especially the Rave scene and the drug scene. They should have been more accurate and they don't offer safe alternatives to where you could still go to a rave and just not do drugs there.

 

 

Oh for anyone that doesn't know. Hell House was like a Haunted house but it was made by a Christian group in Texas and instead of depicting Dracula or the Wolfman, it depicts various sins on earth today such as, abortion, homosexuality, drugs, suicide.....etc.....it was a pretty creative thing to do, I admit.

 

I don't agree with much of the message they are trying to say, but hell they have the right to say it.

 

The documentary has been airing a bunch of Sundance Film Channel.....so look at your local listings.

Damnit...why did they feel the need to tarnish the name of the great haunted house book and movie based on the book? The author should sue their do gooder asses.

 

The Legend Of Hell House = better then these christian do gooders.

I saw a few minutes of it on Sundance last night. I was debating whether I should watch it or not.

 

The acting was brutal so I took a pass.

Bible-Thumpers are associated with pussies because they almost always refuse the slightest difference in opinion. I'm talking fundamentalists, here. The kind that refuse to allow evolution to be taught, despite mountains of evidence, despite the fact that it's UnConstitutional to not allow people to learn it, and despite the fact that a smart believer (read: a good chunk of those with Faith, I must admit) would tie-in Darwin's theory with what it says in the Bible.

Evidence for one is to be embraced but evidence for the Biblical view is to be ignored? Tsk, tsk, if we are to teach our children theory let us teach them all, not merely an anti-Christian view. Darwin's theory is still merely theory, and has a few holes of it's own to bypass before it ever passes that stage. Christians are pussies for not embracing a theory that's a litte thin upon closer inspection?

 

Indeed. I'd rather give my child all the options and let them figure it out on their own than simply dismiss one side 'because'.

I'm almost positive that th official view of the catholic church says it can go hand in hand with Darwin's theory. One for logical and one for spiritual. Either that, big bang, or the sun as the center of the universe. I'l have to look it up.

I'm not Catholic so I dunno.

 

My point was that one shouldn't be favored over the other in the education system when there's good evidence for both. That defies the whole concept of education, IMO.

Catholicism leaves it open for debate.

 

It doesn't really tie in with anything as long as you agree with the simple basis of Genesis. It doesn't have to be literal or anything though.

Sorry I didn't mean to. From what I saw, the christians in Hell House were willing to be open and discuss their views with anyone, which would not lump them in the category I referred to earlier.
