Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted April 17, 2003 The following news is derived and re-written from the Observer Newsletter. # We have been covering the Sting to WWE story pretty viciously this week. Here's what we've learned since the last update. Sting told Andrew McManus, promoter for the World Wrestling All-Stars, that he would have to end his working relationship with his promotion at the end of May. The reason Sting gave was because WWE plans on splitting their brands into seperate pay-per views, and starting with the first in June. As we've reported before, June is when WWE is hoping to have Sting in. In any regard, the sides seem to be coming together quite rapidly. Now We all know how bright the Lightbulb is in McManus's head.. hell he thought Christian really was Quitting the WWE and tried to hire him even though it was a On Air Work. So take it for what its worth... If Sting comes...Well Hell we may get Another "DREAM MATCH" Of Sting in Crow garb vs The Undertaker heh yea right.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Since RAW is the June PPV, does that mean he's headed there too? It'll make me happy.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 17, 2003 I wonder how long it'll take before they just f'n put WCW back together. The only thing lacking is the hot ass Cruiserweight division and David Arquette.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Is DDP 100% retired now because of that injury that he sustained in that match with Bob Holly?
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted April 17, 2003 I want old-school Sting back - fuck the "Crow" gimmick
Guest Steviekick Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Is DDP 100% retired now because of that injury that he sustained in that match with Bob Holly? Yeah...DDP is fully out and had to get the Edge/Lita/Austin/Benoit/Rhyno neck surgery. he's still under contract as far as i know, and I think he should be brought back instead of Lawler as RAW's color commentater. The only thing lacking is the hot ass Cruiserweight division and David Arquette. What I can't understand is that they brought in Flair, Hogan, Nash, Steiner, Bischoff, Golberg and now Sting AFTER the invasion. If they had brought these guys in to begin with the whole thing may not have flopped. I'm still at a loss though as to why the WWE wants to bring in so many aging stars from a company that went under because the fans preferred the younger stars that they could connect with better that the WWF had. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 17, 2003 ...The Hot Ass Cruiserweight Division? Wouldn't that be another term for the womens division? The Hot Ass Cruiserweight Champion, Trish Stratus.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Nope. DDP isn't even under contract anymore. He was given his release late last year.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Ugh. I like Sting, but I can't get excited about this. He was pretty bad in WCW's last year, and he's had spare dates since then at best. I don't want him on my TV, but I didn't want Nash, Steiner, or Goldberg on it either, so.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Motivation, anyone? You know, besides money... JR: Bah Gawd it's, it's it's STING!!! *sting runs to the ring, gets on the mic, pauses* *Pauses* *Pauses* Sting: Yeah, hey... uh... uh...um... IT'S SHOWTIME! *mild pop* *Silence* Sting: Um... Ya know somethin? It's SHOWTIME FOLKS! JR: IT'S STIIIIING!
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 17, 2003 If he does come in, he'll be more over and get a larger reaction than most of the guys WWE have on their TV programs at this current time.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted April 17, 2003 maybe he will be used as well as Ric Flair

That's actually not a bad idea, which is exactly why it'll never happen.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 17, 2003 maybe he will be used as well as Ric Flair If we're lucky! Seriously, I think Flair is being used alright for the most part. The man is finding his niche as a true heel manager, I'm loving it. This hurts me to say this, it really does, but... ...it's time for him to totally hang up the boots. I say give him ONE more run, meaning perhaps one last big match, and then for him to just melt totally into his manager role, he's a natural at that.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Does Flair have any use in the WWE other than HHH's shoe shiner? Does Sting? Vince is stupid.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Flair is there in order for HHH to have flesh and bone to go by, in order to attempt his transistion to BECOME Ric Flair, duh. Yeah, it wont work, but still. Hell, when HHH was walking to the ring in the suit, he even had a Ric Flair stride going on.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Um no, Flair is there to arrange the limosines to ride, the jets to fly, and to arrange the stealing of kisses and dealing of wheels... and to take all the dog hair off HHH's jackets and to give him wake up calls in the morning... Bored 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2003 We'll see how much of an asshole Vince really is if has Sting come gappling down from the ceiling.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted April 17, 2003 I'll mark the fuck out for "crow" Sting. To this day, Sting's Scorpion Death Drop is still my favorite non-high flying, non-double team finisher. It was just something about the way he presented it.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 17, 2003 We'll see how much of an asshole Vince really is if has Sting come gappling down from the ceiling. I think I'm the only one in the world who WOULDN'T think of Vince as an asshole for that. Accidents happen, we must move on. I will say that I do not think Vince should try that stunt again, simply for the reason that it is a very big risk, one not worth taking in this sport. I wouldn't loose respect for him if he did it though. How about to make this even MORE interesting... ...would Sting even WANT to go along with this stunt in WWE knowing what happened the last time they tried it? I don't think he'd even agree to it. It was just something about the way he presented it. I'm a huge mark for Sting also, but I guess most of you could assume that. I think it's pretty clear I'm a WCW mark, right? I loved how Sting would take his opponent by the hair, pull their head back, seemingly say something to them, and then drop them. I stand by my prediction however... ...Sting goes to Smackdown, and recruits John Cena to be his "Little Stinger" (like evaD was Hogan's symbolic Hulkamaniac), face paint and all! Oh yeah, there is basicly no chance of him NOT being "The Crow" Sting. Hell, Sting has the gimmick even right now when he wrestles in the indys or where ever. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Sting and Shawn Michaels become the Christian Crusaders and take on evil in all it's forms (aka, burying all the good workers in the promotion and then jobbing to HHH and Taker)

I wouldn't be surprised if the WWE just had him come out without any face paint and called him by his real name. Then J.R. could say: "That's *insert real name here*! He used to be Sting in WCW!" Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 17, 2003 *Snaps fingers* Now I know why Vince wants sting... To help re-write wrestling history. Sting: I always wanted to go to the WWE, it's just I - a WCW star - was never cut out to be a WWE superstar and wasn't worthy enough to wrestler under the Vince McMahon banner.
