Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Sorta surprised that no one's mentioned that they finally announced a release date for the third season of everyone's favorite cartoon family. The news is pretty bittersweet to me since they were talking a few months back about a May release and up to this point, a July release. Now we finally have one and it's at the end of August. Bummer, as most people will be back to school by time these hit. They really need to speed up production of these though. One season a year is inexcusable. Here's the cover art, btw: Not sure what to think of the purple. It's uh--different. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm just glad they've finally announced a date (albeit a horribly delayed one). I wonder if they'll opt to go with the thin cases inside the box like Futurama and Family Guy.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 17, 2003 I like the purple, since I think consecutive seasons should look distinct from each other (so it's easier to tell which is which on your shelf). The subtle color difference between the first two sets was pretty annoying. And it's about time. It's been so long since S2 that I'm not even all that excited about this anymore. Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted April 17, 2003 It has the monorail episode, so I'll be there the day it comes out. I'll sell my textbooks to get this set. If not, I'm selling my textbooks to get a pre-order on 24 Season 2 ASAP!

Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted April 17, 2003 I own the first two box sets, and now that I finally got a job, I will be able to add this to my collection.
Guest Mole Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Other than the first season, I couldn't really tell you what episode is from what season. Too many episodes for me to tell the difference.

I disagree for the simple fact that box sets of a particular series that look alike, look much better next to each other than box sets of a series with different colors for each set. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Season 3 has the Monorail episode? OH HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE ME RACING OUT TO BUY THIS DVD BOX SET. It is about time. Remember when season 1 came out, and that same year they said season 2 and 3 would be out by that Thanksgiving...yah that was almost 2 years ago. 1 season a year is pure shit. I will be over 30 by the time they get around to the later years. They need to hurry this up. Oh and I like the purple.

Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted April 17, 2003 Bart the Murderer is my personal favourite episode, so I'll be getting this whenever it makes its way to a UK release.
Guest Marshall Report post Posted April 17, 2003 It'll be out in the UK on the same date. I don't mind waiting. If they released every season tomorrow I wouldn't buy it unless they have commentaries.
Guest What? Report post Posted April 18, 2003 The box is purple? It looks orange to me. And Bart the Murderer is my favorite episode as well, along with Saturday's of Thunder and Homer at the Bat Actually, Homer at the Bat is my favorite episode. Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted April 19, 2003 Some of the extras for the set include: - Commentary - A discussion of animation with Matt Groening, Jim Brooks and Al Jean - Outtakes from numerous episodes - Audio of a table read for "Treehouse of Horror II" - An 11-song jukebox feature; and Fox promos for the show Sounds like some good stuff, but I'll be honest, I'd be lying if I said that I watched all of the extras from the first two seasons. This series is about the actual show for me, not the commentary.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted April 19, 2003 oh well...no Kamp Krusty... but Homer At The Bat, Saturdays of Thunder, Flaming Moes, and Brother Can You Spare Two Dimes OWNS IT~!

Or at the very least put SOME of the 30-35 shorts shorts that have not seen any sort of home market release onto one of their DVD Box sets?
Guest Bruiser Chong Report post Posted April 20, 2003 I have to agree with you there, seeing as how we only got one (I think) short on the first set and nothing since. It's even worse when you consider that you got that much off just ONE of the vhs tapes they put out a while back. I'm not sure if that's a complete list of extras either, although I wouldn't imagine there'd be that much more than what's listed.
