STAMFORD -- A 9-year-old Stamford boy who allegedly raped a 7-year-old girl in a bathroom at Roxbury Elementary School last month was arrested yesterday.

 

The boy turned himself in at Stamford police headquarters on Bedford Street in the morning and was taken next door to state Superior Court.

 

Assistant Police Chief Richard Priolo confirmed the arrest but would not say what charges were filed. He described it as a "sensitive case" involving a juvenile at a Stamford school.

 

"That incident has been presented to the juvenile authorities of the state of Connecticut," Priolo said. "Juvenile cases are generally sealed, and I can give you no further information."

 

The boy followed the girl into a coed bathroom about noon during a school day at the end of March and sodomized her, police have said. The sex act was forced, they said.

 

A teacher looking for the boy saw the girl leave the one-person bathroom, then saw the boy leave shortly after, police said.

 

The girl had a pass to go to the bathroom, but the boy was unaccounted for and the teacher had gone searching for him, according to police.

 

The victim apparently did not know the boy, authorities said. School officials said a conference was held regarding the boy, but it is unclear whether he still attends the school.

 

Superintendent Anthony Mazzullo gave a statement Monday saying the school has safety measures in place to protect students. He did not elaborate.

 

"We really are not commenting on it," Dudley Williams Jr., president of the Stamford Board of Education, said yesterday.

 

Public schools are on spring vacation this week. Roxbury Principal Gail Flaster did not return a phone call seeking comment.

 

Police officials would not answer questions about the boy's background or home life.

 

According to the National Center for Juvenile Justice, 43 percent of sexual assaults of children age 6 and under are attributable to juvenile abusers. Statistics show that 95 percent of children with sexual behavior problems are also victims of sexual abuse

Seems more like a bully thing to me more so than a "rape". At least that is how it reads but we don't know exactly what happened.

Lock the sick little fuck up for a while, or send him to the pedophile area of the local jail and give him a taste of it's own medicine.

 

Ok, a little harsh but this kind of punishment shouldn't be the usual slap-on-the-wrist type stuff.
