Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted April 20, 2003 This thread has pretty much lost it's purpose. The point is to download songs and artists you normally would never listen too, even if you think you'll hate it, and give it a listen and give it a fair critique. However, everyone is basically saying "fuck your music, but my shit rocks" by either copping out from downloading it or completely ignoring the point and saying they'll hate it up front. If you're not going to give anything a chance, don't post any of your choices like yours are so much better.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted April 20, 2003 Funny song, as are most tunes by System. My friend Vollans wouldn't stop singing the chorus for months, though, so the song is detracted for that reason and that reason alone. Still, it's System Of A Down, so it's good (according to me, anyways). Wow that's cool System's got cred around these boards. I love em, and as a side pick I'm going to offer "Snowblind" by System of a Down that's the cover to the Black Sabbath tune. pretty badass. They also did "Goodbye Blue Sky" by Pink Floyd but it hasn't proliferated around the net as much as Snowblind has. I marked out when they played Snowblind at Ozzfest `02 (craptacular show save for the last 2 acts, Ozzy and System..I didn't like Black Label Society) and my pick for trying out new music.. "As Embers Dress The Sky" by Agalloch dark metal This is the first song I heard from them, and it's kind of strange to listen to just that song, as I heard from a review once, that the album that song is from (Pale Folklore) deserves to be listened to from start to finish, not just a song at a time, so it begins and ends in transition, in case you can't tell. I LOVE the alternation between the clean and dirty vocals, and even how it almost takes you on a little ride throughout the song. Be warned though, it is 8:05 long, but it's a good introduction to Agalloch. They do get much harder also by the way, metalheads..
