Guest C-Bacon Report post Posted April 18, 2003 My computer has been really noisy all day. Sounds like the fan. It's a really loud humming type sound as if the computer is about to explode! any ideas on why it's doing this all of a sudden?
Guest MrRant Report post Posted April 18, 2003 Fan going out is possible. Where does the sound come from? The power supply? HD?
Guest C-Bacon Report post Posted April 18, 2003 Hard to tell, but it's from the front so im assuming its the fan
Guest MrRant Report post Posted April 18, 2003 Front could be the hard drive or maybe the video card. If the side of your case slides off do that and listen to see where the sound is coming from.
Guest RedJed Report post Posted April 19, 2003 It could be alot of things, even as simple as maybe it was really hot or humid near the computer and it needed to use more power for the fan. I've had my PC be really loud on hot summer days, for example.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted April 19, 2003 If it's a case fan, they're cheap to get and easy to replace. If it's the power supply fan, then a little more work and time is required, but it's still nothing really major.
