Burning X-Box games...

Recommended Posts

Guest justsoyouknow

I've owned an X-Box for quite some time now, and I've bought a couple games personally, but mainly, I have a connection that works for a store that "aquires" the games and sells them for half-price at school. However, I don't feel like going through that connection anymore and I was wondering if there is a way to burn my friend's X-Box games so that I could play them. I heard that if you burned the game as a DVD, then you could play it, but wouldn't that require the DVD remote to work? I'm just wondering. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it is possible to copy the games using a program called DVD Copy X and you would also need a mod chip to play the games.

You're going to need a mod chip for your Xbox.

First of all, I don't condone modding your box. I like to keep mine standard and with factory equipment. But if you want to mod yours, the best chip is called the "Matrix" mod chip.

The reason for this is simple: The Matrix doesn't require soldering into your Xbox. Also, Xbox Live will immediately ban your machine's internal ID if it sees a chip. Unless you want to buy two Xboxes and just mod one (which is useful if you want to use it seperately as an emulator, progressive scan DVD player, Divx player hooked up to your TV, or whatever) you'll want a switch that can turn off the mod chip powers and go back to factory standard so Xbox Live doesn't ban you. The Matrix chip has one of these switches.

You can get chips that will have a light that will tell you if its on or not. Just turn the mod off when you go Live.
