Guest the no selling Pencil Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 just wondering what you guys felt were the best theme parks over there in the USa for people who love white knuckle rides also if you could say where they are exactly it would be mostly appreciated Thanks in advance
Guest Kingpk Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Six Flags New England, Superman the Ride. 300 feet up and 70mph first drop. The rest of the park is pretty nice too, I gotta get there this year since I somehow never went last summer.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Six Flags Magic Mountain, in Valencia CA, is the best I think. They've got that Superman ride there too. Plus it was Wally World in Vacation.
Guest Eagan469 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Six Flags Darien Lake (also has Superman: The Ride)
Guest the no selling Pencil Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Just out of curiosity are there 6 six-flag theme parks or does the name represent something else?
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Six Flags Magic Mountain, in Valencia CA, is the best I think. They've got that Superman ride there too. Plus it was Wally World in Vacation. ::MARKS OUT~! for mention of his hometown:: I used to work there, actually too...
Guest eiker_ir Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 i've never been to a Six Flags, just to the Orlando ones and i think the best is Island of Adventure. It has Spiderman the Ride, The Hulk Rollercoaster, Dr. Doom's FearFall, The Dueling Dragons Coaster and other cool stuff
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I have to a home town Homer for Paramount Kings Island...
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Cedar Point. Paramount KI is OK -- better than Kennywood...
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Cedar Point is Nice...I'm always sick when I get there so I never do ride anything...
Guest HBK16 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Six Flags Magic Mountain in California is the best. Islands of Adventures comes in close second. Busch Gardens in umm I think it was in Virginia. Somewhere up there. I went there when I went to Washington.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Cedar Point in Ohio..but you need 2 or 3 days to ride every coaster. I want to go there this summer but I doubt it. Six Flags Magic Mountain is trying to overtake Cedar Point, they keep on upping each other in terms of crazy coaster designs. Theres two that Magic Mountain has that I'd like to ride (Deja Vu and X) but the X's design (Independently spinning cars) will probably show up in a coaster on the East Coast soon. The best Park I've been to myself is Six Flags America between D.C. and Baltimore, they have a couple of really good rides but its nothing compared to the big named parks. I've also been to Kings Dominion, Hershey Park, Busch Gardens and Paramounts Carrowinds near Charlotte. The 3 best Coasters I've been on: 1: Volcano: The Blast Coaster (King's Dominion) - Its on Mick Foleys list of favorite Coasters, and it is just awesome, even if the wait (3 Hours) drarfs the actual ride time (45 Seconds). 2: Superman: Ride of Steel (Six Flags America) - relatively similar to the other rides of the same name at the other SF Parks, this rides length and speed is awesome. 3: Batwing (Six Flags America) - the first laydown coaster I've ever been on, at one point in the ride you are face down and the only thing preventing you from droping out of the seat is the straps (no part of your body actually touches the seat itself at that part). Definitely a screamer..
Guest HBK16 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 X at Six Flags is one of the best I have ever ridden. Also the Hulk at Islands of Adventures is a really good coaster. But X takes the cake. I didnt get to ride Deja Vu when I went cuz it was closed for repairing or cleaning. But I am going back to Six Flags in a few weeks.
Gert T Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Yeah Choken, PKI is sweet now because no one goes there anymore, and the lines are basically nothing. And although I'm ripping on it, I'll still go 3-4 times per summer.
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Yeah, PKI is losing Attendence mainly because they are running outta space to add new attractions... Been alot of complaints about Security and shit... Son of the Beast didn't attract as many people as it had hoped...
Guest Still Fly Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I have to say Six Flags Magic Mountain is the best theme in the country. Currently being employed at Magic Mountain and ridden most of the coasters (im a ride op) this is the best Six Flags park in the nation. Also, I believe that Magic Mountain has overtaken Cedar Point with the most rollercoasters in one park. The new ride Scream i believe the 17th one. For all you guys that live in Southern California and havent ridden X, Deja Vu or Scream I suggest you do it NOW! X and Deja Vu are a must ride. Scream is alright.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Great America is good too if you're hitting Chicago, Pencil.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 The Point Online is reporting that Cedar Point Amusement Park has announced their newest addition: a 420 ft. goliath called Top Thrill Dragster. The coaster will be the world's tallest, and fastest at 120 mph. The coaster is going to be truly terrifying in that it shoots riders up the 420 ft. incline in 4 seconds at a 90 degree angle--then sends them straight down while completing a 270 degree twist. Top Thrill Dragster will feature 6 different colored 16 passenger trains, and can handle 1,500 riders per hour, comparable to other rides in the park. The park is calling Top Thrill Dragster the world's first strata-coaster, skipping the mathematical prefix 'tetra'. The coaster will cost $25 million dollars (the same price as Millennium Force), and is being constructed by Intamin AG, the same designers of Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, and others. Top Thrill Dragster Online Now that sounds like fun. *Starts running to Cedar Point*
Guest Ravenbomb Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Six Flags Mid-America is good. It's got Batman, The Ninja, this giant swing and Mr. Freeze, which I haven't been on but I hear is good. Silver Dollar City in Branson has a couple decent rides and really good food (good kettle corn and fresh-made beef jerky, deer jerky and turkey jurkey! That last one rhymes!)
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Schlitterbaun Water Park love this place!
