Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 South Park in a landslide followed by Penn & Teller: Bullshit. Honorable shout out to John Doe. I might be the only one here who likes it. But that's probably because everybody else has a social life.
moral suasion 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 South Park. No question. It is possibly the funniest show ever. It explores important social and personal issues. It has characters that the audience truly cares about. It's educational. It is also in its PRIME. The 100th episode was awesome. I agree with the Buffy haters out there. The show is fun, but really overrated.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I on the other hand think people don't give Buffy enough credit. It has some very underrated actors on it and some of the best continuity, foreshadowing, and character development on TV.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Sure...But it's about Vampires and shit...I've seen the show enough to know that shit is just lame... I am sickler for Cop Shows...
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Sure...But it's about Vampires and shit...I've seen the show enough to know that shit is just lame... I am sickler for Cop Shows... Oh no it's about vampires it's automatically stupid.........good grief. Okay you saw the show and didn't like it I'm okay with that reason. Why did you even throw the "oh but it's about vampires" thing in? Seemed a little silly.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I threw that in because I don't care about watching a Show based upon Vampires and shit... That doesn't entertain my ass...

While it has been consistantly put over by critics, most people simply dismiss the show because of its name and general image. In turn, you get people, who know little to nothing of the show, hating on it (as pointed out Youth N Asia and others in this thread). Stuff like "The Body" is some of the best television ever made. Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Buffy is not really a show about vampires. Buffy is a show about some of the most realistically written, witty and likable characters on TV who just happen to slay and/or be vampires.

Bored 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I don't know if these count in some people's minds but the best shows on t.v. in my mind are The Daily Show with John Stewart and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The Sopranos also but the 4th season was a definently the weakest and there is too long of a hiatest between seasons. Oh and ALL network sitcoms currently on t.v., that aren't cartoons, suck. Period. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Its pretty much between CSI and 24 for me. Both of those shows are in my Can't Miss category (and it helps that I get wild feeds of both shows to watch earlier..) Law and Order has gone from Can't miss to "Its no big deal if I miss this to do (something else)".. I would also say Buffy, however I haven't seen a new episode since it moved to UPN. I still watch the show in syndication and on DVD though.

Guest starvenger Report post Posted April 22, 2003 If you guys aren't watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs, you're missing out on some GREAT action. This is probably my favourite time of the year - and just about the only thing that drops 24 from my "can't miss" list. I know Buffy is supposed to be a good show, but I've never gotten into any of the Whedon shows. Sorry.

Guest areacode212 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I know Buffy is supposed to be a good show, but I've never gotten into any of the Whedon shows. Sorry. Buffy is something you really have to watch from the beginning in order to get the most out of it, IMO. Before I got the season 1 DVDs, I tried watching a few random episodes here & there and couldn't really get into them. But once I saw those DVDs, man...it was perfection. Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Angel= best show on tv right now. Theyve always been good but from about mid last season to now theyve been on a hotstreak Buffy, but after season 5 I stopped caring as much Fatslane is a groovy show, which suprises me as I thought itd be craptacular. I cant talk about 24 because i missed the first couple episodes and I refuse to watch any of them until i watch them all in a row. Kinda anal, i know, but with 24, its worth it. Is Off Centre still on? wb fucked them over, kept changing their timeslots and evrything but still great show

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Buffy is not a vampire show. Anyone who says so is ill informed and is hereby ordered to buy the book "Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy" so that they can learn all about the deeper meaning of the show as it regards to philosophical meaning. In fact...everyone should read that book.
