Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 So Ok...Let's be more Humane here... Which of these "ROCK" superstars can you buy still being around as an Active part of the scene in 10 years?
Guest TheBlurricane Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Out of all those the only ones I see still being around in 10 years is Linkin Park. Limp Bizkit will self destruct cause Fred is a moron. P.O.D. might be around, but they've already put out like 4 albums before they made it big so they might not have 10 years left. Metallica are on their last legs Avril is just another flavor of the month/year ICP I don't really know if they'll be around. Good Charlotte (see Avril) Sum 41 (see Avril) Ja Rule will probably get shot Come to think of it.......none of them will be around.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 POD because they'll always be popular in th Christian Rock scene.
Guest mesepher Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 ICP - they are the most harmless overall and don't get mainstream attention
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 My Take On This Linkin Park- I could buy It...They have a sound that can last longer the normal Generic Rock. They have a hard fan base that will remain loyal... Limp Bizkit-Already begun to self-Destruct. The new album will bomb and Fred will decide that he wants to be a Solo superstar...Bomb there too and become no different then other Rock Bombs... P.O.D-I can buy this. Strong Hardcore Fanbase with the Christian Market (which is growing) and they seem very close. Creed-Iffy. If Stapp can keep from becoming A Wanna Be Morrison and just let Tremonti write the music...they can be around for a while... Metallica-Lars will implode the Group...James gets a Mid-life crisis...Boots Lars out and convinces Jason to rejoin and they make a decent effort of reclaiming pass glory... Avril-Will go the way of Joan Osborne and wha other pop "PUNK" diva we've seen lately... ICP-An Underground band of sorts that never been taken seriously, has a great chance of being obsolete forever... Good Charlotte-Flavor of the Month. Sum 41- If they ditch the Pop/Punk crap and just do Metal...They have a chance at success on a minor level... Ja Rule-Will be found dead July 13th 2003...
Guest HHH123007 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I say Creed will be around....people dig their music even though Stapp is a prick... I would've said Ja Rule, but he's gonna stop making music soon...
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 and I should Add... Has anyone been to a Creed Concert? GREAT LIVE SHOW. That is the meat of their appeal...
Guest TheBlurricane Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 and I should Add... Has anyone been to a Creed Concert? GREAT LIVE SHOW. That is the meat of their appeal... Unless Scott Stapp is too stoned to perform.
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Well Yeah that clearly makes a difference now doesn't it? Speaking of which...Why is it that not only 6 weeks after BTM...INTERESTING SHIT FINALLY HAPPENS WITH STAPP!? He was boring as fuck before but after it... Got divorced... Wife attacked him with a Cell Phone Wife was sent to Mental Rehabiliation Gets in a Car Accident...Hurts his back... Loses His Voice Shows Up Drunk and Stoned and performs Naked... Goes to Rehabilitation gets out of Rehab Gets into ANOTHER Car accident What the fuck happened to Mr. Nice Christian Boy Scott Stapp? Can't wait for the new album... "So, God, I guess I got High, Higher then last time, last night, under the sunlight, lit me a joint, and With arms wide open, I grabbed a Coors"
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Not one of those bands will be doing anything relevant in ten years.
Guest Choken One Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Dont say that...I said AROUND in 10 years... Hell they don't say anything relevant NOW but still...
Guest saturnmark4life Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Linkin Park will probably be like current metallica in five years, just a complete joke (moreso) but they won't last ten.
Guest Nevermortal Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 ICP will be around until one of the members actually dies. That's how loyal their fan base is.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I thought ICP said they'd made their last record?
moral suasion Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I Chose Sum 41. Of all the current MTV super bands, I think they are far and away the most talented. This means they can still remain successful after thier MTV stint.
Guest razazteca Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Sum 41 will be around forever just like Motley Crue is still around doing revival tours of pop punk with Blink182 and 311.
Guest mesepher Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Linkin Park- I could buy It...They have a sound that can last longer the normal Generic Rock. They have a hard fan base that will remain loyal... I don't think so man... those kids are just bound to grow up and realize their poor, pathetic lives really aren't so bad... people only like teeny bopper bands for so long
Guest cartman Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 My Take On This P.O.D-I can buy this. Strong Hardcore Fanbase with the Christian Market (which is growing) and they seem very close. Except for the fact that they have "parted ways" with their guitarist.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Metallica. They've been around the last 20 years. They're in their early 40's/late 30's. In the ultimate way of showing honor to the primary influence in their careers, Motörhead, they'll continue on, Terry Funk-style, until they have osteoperosis (sp.?) and can't play at all anymore.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I'm sensing a very dramatic breakup within the next five years. Maybe that's just the optimist in me, but it's also the merciful part of me. That old horse is on its last legs..time to make some dog food and glue.
