Guest RedJed Report post Posted April 20, 2003 I'm just going through some old WWF TV from 93 and I noticed a concept they started, didn't last long, but I thought really worked in retrospect. Gene Okerlund would be moderator in these short segments from the "WWF studio" and they would bring in a heel and a face feuding with each other to cut promos on each other, etc. It worked because it actually highlighted many feuds and gave them purpose the easy way.........by simple logistics of guys cutting promos and counterpointing each other. They did this mostly on the syndicated shows and they would be used primarily to build up upcoming house show matches in the area most of the time. Why they dont do basic stuff like this these days is beyond me......
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 20, 2003 It's Logical and it's not the WWE way...They gotta have Soap Operetic themes with twists and DRAMUH! To sell the Buyrates...
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2003 I used to love those because they'd hype upcoming house show cards in the area.
Guest Jack Tunney Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I swear on my Mother's eternal soul that I saw one with Deisel and Shawn Michaels where Nash called Shawn "Mike" and Michaels responds by calling him "Kevin".It was sometime in 95 or 96.Anyone remember this one? Guest RedJed Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I'm not sure but it's possible.........I dont think they did these segments much past early 94 though. But I could see them throwing that out on a live Raw or something, perhaps.

If they did something like that, it wasn't in this format. They did have a confrontation on Sunday Night Slam a week before WrestleMania XI - that's the only time I recall them being in the same ring after breaking up. They weren't in the ring.It was Todd Pettingil (I think) in a studio and Nash was on one little screen in the corner, and Shawn in the other. It was hyping a house show in Philly. Guest Infinit Report post Posted April 23, 2003 My fave face to face moment was with Diesel, Shawn, and Ray Rougeau (just after Diesel debuted) Ray: So Diesel, why are you working for Shawn Michaels? Diesel: Well Ray, I'm here to watch Shawn's back... Ray: You're here to WASH HIS BACK? Diesel: WATCH, Ray, WATCH...learn the verbage... CLASSIC....Thinking of that still gives me a chuckle... Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted April 24, 2003 I taped those segments a lot. They stopped airing around mid 1996. They were hosted by several people (inclduing the horrible charlie Minn (?) and Stephanie wyant in 1994-95), and as stated before, hyped house show cards for the up coming weeks.
