Guest Choken One Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Dont get preachy...I was just fucking wit ya... See...Christians ARE uptight...
Guest SP-1 Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Nah, it's not that. It's been a hell of a night. I've been snappy with everyone since I got in.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 You know, Christ has two major national holidays. The devil has one and a half (the half being mardi gras). I wouldn't have expected it to be so close.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I have a question about something that wasn't borught up here, where did the Easter Bunny come in?! Every Rose Has It's Thorn!
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 What's the full one? Halloween
Guest SP-1 Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Is that really a Devil's holiday so much as a harvest with several different darker meanings? I ask because I truly am curious.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 What's the full one? Halloween It's an old Pagan holiday that was celebrated before Christianity. Every Rose has It's Thorn!
Guest Downhome Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 What's the full one? Halloween It's an old Pagan holiday that was celebrated before Christianity. Every Rose has It's Thorn! This is true, but it's taken a life of it's own somewhat, and many have adopted it as a Satanic holiday. Of course, many of the aspects of Easter, as it's celebrated today, also came from Pagans.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Yeah, but who's a pagan anymore? The devil owns Halloween, although it isn't literally the devil's holiday. Just like April fool's day was religious at first, but no longer carries any of that connotation.
Guest Goodear Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Yeah, but Halloween pretty much sucks now anyway with all the soccer moms ruining it for all the little children.
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 I have no problem with Halloween. It seems more like a children's holiday. There really is no big story behind it or reason behind it. It's sort of a day to remember/respect the dead and for kids to get candy.
